His punches did absolutely nothing to Margarito.

Roach said he wont wait for Mayweather since all Mayweather had to do was wait one day to announce a fight against Pacquiao. He wants Pacquiao to be busy and is willing to go against Mosley or Cotto if they go down to 140 while waiting for PBF.

    There's only oneeee Ricky Hatton,
    Oneeee Ricky Hatton,
    Walking along, Singing a song,
    Walking in a Hatton wonderland.

Seriously...annoying brits ....glad he got KTFO

He can now go get small parts in Guy Ritchie movies
Annoying tune but can't get it out of my head

    Pacman -> <- Hatton

Ok lets sing....(to the tune of London Bridge is falling down...)

"Ricky Hatton falling down...falling down...Ricky Hatton fallin down...in just 2-round!"

At this point, is it too late for Hatton to improve on defense?

Hatton fought a foolish fight. Mayweather SR, said "He did not follow instructions" and i believe him. Manny was going to win nomatter what but Hatton fought the same way he always does. Rushing in, wrecklessly, you can't beat Manny like that and i was under the impression Hatton knew that..
Hatton parts ways with Mayweather Sr.

    By Roy Luarca
    Philippine Daily Inquirer
    First Posted 23:40:00 05/04/2009

HOLLYWOOD—CHANCES ARE FLOYD Mayweather Sr. is out of Team Hatton, for good.

Reports from England yesterday revealed that Mayweather’s contract was only for 12 weeks up to Hatton’s showdown with Manny Pacquiao which ended in a disastrous second-round knockout loss on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

Mayweather was earlier quoted as saying that Hatton did not heed his instruction to keep up his defense and avoid toe-to-toe exchanges with Pacquiao.

Hatton was also under orders to stay close to Pacquiao to neutralize the Filipino’s speed and give him a chance to unleash his vaunted body blows.

But after Hatton was knocked down twice in the first round, Mayweather said the Briton returned to his old brawling style.

Having perfected the moves to foil Hatton’s attack, Pacquiao found the Hitman an easy target instead.

There were also reports of strife in the Hatton camp less than a week before the fight dubbed “The Battle of East and West.”

Hatton reportedly resented Mayweather’s iness during training sessions.

Reports also quoted Mayweather as saying that he’d like to see Hatton give up fighting after absorbing his second knockout loss in 47 fights.

Other reports, however, said Hatton, who apologized to his fans for the crushing defeat, may yet fight again.

yeah i heard something like that too . arum wants to get that done right away.
Pacman plans to run for Philippine Congress this April 2010. That's probably why he only has plans for one more fight before January next year.

I thought Hatton fought a bad fight. With that said Manny killed him in a lot more dominate and quicker fashion than I expected.

I have no doubt at this point that Manny would beat Floyd. I was always on the fence about a Floyd fight. Manny's just too dialed right now. I predict a hold up over money. Floyd will duck but I don't think he can duck for too long.

Interesting..let me quote what you wrote in a previous thread about Pacman/DLH

    http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthre...light=pacquiao

"Pacquiao most recently fought at 135 and will have to jump 2 weight classes to get to 147. Even though he gets the 8 oz gloves instead of the 10 oz that Oscar wanted, I just don't see Pacquiao winning this one. A lot can happen between now and December and this one will be tough to call, but as of right now that's a of a lot of weight to jump and still take power for a dude as small framed as Pacquiao.

@ Oscar for talking big now that he's fighting the smaller guy after backing off his statements to take on the winner of Cotto - Margarito. Margarito scared the out of him with that performance."

Well head, I made those comments before the fight, so obviously before I saw what DLH looked like after killing himself to make weight. Once I saw that he looked like a skeleton I knew it was over. Go hump on somebody else's leg with your bull .

Floyd's inactivity may hurt him if he takes the fight with Manny. We'll see how he looks in this fight with Marquez. His defense is so good Manny will have a tough time with it but i do think the fight will happen. As long as Mayweather gets through in this fight, the public demand to see he and Manny will be enormous. Huge Paydays for both, a true Mega-fight. I expect it to happen..

How he handles Marquez will definitely be the key here. If he struggles I expect there to be road blocks.

People need to stop re-writing history on that fight. Oscar was the betting favorite going into it. He had beaten much bigger, stronger and in some cases more skilled fighters than Manny in his career. The man had 2 battles with Sugar Shane, and a prime Shane at that.. He was coming off a compe ive loss to Floyd. The bottom line is draining himself, at age 35 to make that weight killed him in that fight. I said in the thread, before the fight started, after having picked Oscar to win, that hearing he was unable to put any weight back on after the weigh in had me wavering big time. Oscar screwed up taking that fight, at that weight..

Oscar is hands down the most overrated fighter ever in boxing. He beat Mosley and off the top of my head I think there was one more decent fighter he beat. Thats about it. He's a perennial loser in big fights.

Okay 3. Mosley, Whitaker and Quartey.
He beat Vargas (former champion) when he was juiced up on steroids and JC Chavez twice (although he was 36 at the time of the 2nd fight). He also beat Jesse James Leija (30-1-2 ATOF), Arturo Gatti (33-1-0 ATOF), Miguel Angel Gonzales (41-0-0 ATOF), Genaro Hernandez (32-0-1 ATOF)...these were all world champions before Oscar knocked them out. He was also robbed in the Trinidad fight although alot of that was his own doing...

The o Fight, was the biggest mistake Oscar ever made. He was dessimating Trinidad. Through 8 rds, i recall having it 7-1 for Oscar. Everytime he let his hands go, he was dominating. Running those last rds on the advice of his stupid corner, was such a bad idea..

Oscar destroys any version of JCC. He was about to lose to Meldrick Taylor, before Richard Steele, took Don King's money and stopped the fight off a knockdown with 2 seconds on the clock in the 12th.. Prime Oscar just way too skilled for Chavez..

Vargas juiced or not was highly highly overrated himself. Chavez fights were worthless. JJL was on the decline. Gatti...ok I'll give you Gatti I guess.

I don't consider Gonzales or Hernandez big victories.

He ed himself in the o fight. Great fighters don't lay back.

I never followed Lewis so I can't say. I'm sure the premise of dragging on a heavyweight fight makes much more sense over trying to pull that off in the lower weights.

    say what???

It was obvious DeLaChocha has been fighting exhibition fights for the last few years. Dude is finished as a compe or. and was a while ago.

Floyd could have easily destroyed him. But Floyd is not as aggressive as Manny. How in the world DeLaChocha has been relevant in the last 5 years is a mystery to me.
