Anyone is better than Bynum right now
Bynum still has a shot to be very good. He just needs to stay healthy. If he gets his mind right and pays attention to rebounding and defense he can be very good. His offense is already much more polished than Dwight's.
Anyone is better than Bynum right now
Having more polish on offense than Dwight is like having a bigger than Ghazi.
That's a lot of if's for a guy that already got paid and doesn't matter one bit if he plays hard or sits in the bench. I bet you he'll have a career year his next contract season.
His head is not in the game! Maybe Kobe was right. They shouldve traded him. He just needs to trust his knee. Seems like he's playing scared of another injury.
Bynum does not have the right at ude to presently succeed in the NBA right now. He's a party-fiend, arrogant, and does not ever seem to have his head in the game.
I'm not writing Bynum off just yet, as he's got potential in the pretty distant future if he decides to actually focus on basketball. But right now he seems to be concerned with showing off how much money he has at clubs.
that has braces.
Oh man he's one arrogant little . He's always got this "Excuse me, I'm Andrew ing Bynum, I'm better than you, stop making me look bad with your effort" look on his face.
It is more a health thing than a skill thing. He was balling for the past two years before the injuries.
He was playing great before the injury. He's playing like a pussy now. Oh well. Hopefully he can get his together next year, cause I doubt it happens this year.
The big man I am most impressed with is Al Jefferson who modeled his game after Hakeem Olajuwan. He's a beast.
My sarcasm meter is broken... :\
Al is a terrible defender though. Great offensive game.
It's possible with his playoff performance that Bynum's too soft mentally. If he doesn't grow up, he'll be a bust and a waste of money.
He thinks he automatically will be a super-star or was talking as if he has something prove back in January. That's why in-games he's more focused on offense, and doesn't stick with helping out on defense and rebounding when his offense isn't needed.
It's obvious he can't respond well if his minutes are curtailed and he has some weird reaction to Phil's lineup adjustments or whatever game plan that doesn't use Bynum on O. He pouts. I remember not too long ago he had the audacity to question Phil Jackson. He's a stupid man-child.
Bynum was good for about 35 games last year and about 30 this year. Jerome James has had about that many productive games.
Ya, he got hurt. That tends to slow people down.
DIdn't Bynum talk about 70 wins last year?
70 win ecstasy!!!!![]()
True that.
He's basically Amare Stoudemire only 4 inches taller. They both have the exact same excuse, "My knee injury somehow prevents me from playing defense or rebounding......with that said, it still allows me to be a black hole on offense."
And they both do seem annoyed whenever a less talented player actually gives an effort against them as if that player is supposed to just let them score.
Bynum is only 21.
He came into the league extremely raw and is still very raw.
Personally I've always thought that we won't see this kid's potential until he is about 23-24. It's too early to say anything definitively about him.
That's the thing. If he was sucking because he was giving effort and making a bunch of mental gaffes that just result from not being experienced, that's completely acceptable, even expected. Howard snagging that floater that was obviously going to miss tonight for a goaltending call is just misdirected effort and something he definitely won't do when he's 28.
However, Bynum's shortcomings seem to result from having a horrible at ude combined with a relatively poor work ethic.
Also, if we won't see his potential until he's 24, how do you explain the next three years on his contract? That's an enormous sum of money to pay a "project player".
The injury card doesnt pass for Bynum right now. He isnt playing with his mind and heart.
Bynum, just like Oden, still has a chance to one of the top centers in the NBA. I see him, Oden and Howard being the top three centers down the road, barring injury and if they all work hard on their game.
Bynum is more offense oriented among the three, Howard is more defensive, with Oden being in the middle. Oden is the strongest and the biggest, Howard the most athletic. Howard dominates and puts up great numbers partly because he plays in the east while NBA's most top low post players are in the west, Yao, Shaq, AJ, Duncan, Oden, Bynum.
I think he still gets a pass because of the injury. He's trying to play with and against guys who have been playing together for six months. That can't be easy. He surely could be doing better than he is, but he's certainly no bust.
There is no way that Oden is stronger than Howard. I might put money on Howard benching more weight than anyone in the NBA. Maybe LeBron or Baby Davis could give him a run, that's about it.

"You know how big a guy would have to be to crush a guy like that? in' huge."
lol not sarcasm, I am with you on the arrogant part. I was almost thinking about starting a thread about The Bynum Face except alot of other athletes have had that face.
