Since when does the Cons ution say I can't make fun of people as well as ideas?

Just because I have the liberty to insult someone, doesn't mean I will.

However, ridicule and insult is a powerful tool, and it needs to be used as such. Do you think that no one should be allowed to make fun of Obama's beliefs? Or liberal's beliefs? Or ANYONE's beliefs? I'm sure you don't.

Trump says Miss California USA can retain crown


NEW YORK – Miss California USA can retain her crown even though she failed to reveal she had posed in her underwear as a teenager, pageant owner Donald Trump said Tuesday.

Carrie Prejean appeared by Trump's side as he made the announcement at New York's Trump Tower.

Trump also defended the answer that Prejean gave at last month's Miss USA pageant when she was asked her view of marriage by judge Perez Hilton, a celebrity blogger. She said she believes marriage is between a man and a woman.

"It's the same answer the president of the United States gave; it's the same answer many people gave," Trump said. "She gave an honorable answer; she gave an answer from her heart."

Trump said he and other pageant officials had reviewed racy photos of Prejean and decided they were acceptable.

"We are in the 21st century. We have determined the pictures taken are fine," he said, adding that "in some cases the pictures were lovely."

After Trump spoke, the 21-year-old Prejean, who was accompanied by her parents, took her turn at the lectern, defending herself against what she described as vicious attacks.

She talked about getting thousands of letters and e-mails from people supporting her and said, about the marriage question, that Hilton had asked her a "politically charged question with a hidden personal agenda."

"I stated my honest belief," she said.

Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, is best known as a celebrity blogger but has also branched off into gay rights advocacy.

Nobody is perfect. Every day we are all examples to others both of what to do and what we ought not to do.

I do not approve of the pictures Carrie took. I think modesty is a desirable and becoming quality in all women and ought to be a defining characteristic of anyone who sets herself up as a role model.

I think Carrie was a good example in answering questions according to what she believes. But Carrie was a bad example in regards to the pictures she took.
I hope that neither I nor any young girl in my acquaintance and/ or under my guidance ever takes pictures of a revealing nature much less allow them to be published!


Also, it was dishonest of Carrie to not disclose those pictures. Had she been stripped of her crown as a result of her secrecy- i.e. delibrate sneakiness, I could not have, in good conscience, objected.

As for my absence in the thread, I stopped checking it as frequently once the coversations I had intiated with people waned off.
Not only that, I am currently without home internet so cannot log on away from work.

Oh really? Obviously you did not watch any election coverage.

Ridicule and insult can convince just as many, in certain situations, as logic and reason.

Is it a sound basis for an argument? No... but I'm not looking to win a debate. If I want to call Miss USA stupid, or someone looking for money, then I can do it all I want.

Medvev had some really good takes on this situation today on his show.

He basically said that both sides look stupid for this entire affair (agreed) and that he's tired of people calling her courageous for making a statement that the majority of American's agree with in the first place.

The only thing left to see is if she's gonna get her own show on Fox (maybe like a fashion/political show with all mamacitas as guests), a reoccuring pundit role on one of their shows, an anchorwoman spot, or an update girl.

She was on TODAY and said she can't rule out there are more photos out there but she blames the photographers and the wind. I guess nipples are no big deal anymore so I expect to see topless bathing suit compe ions very soon. That would be lovely.
