We need him. He's one the only two players in the league who really averaged 20+10 this season(AJ not included cauz he was out in too many games). I know his defense is terrible, but we can make him and Timmy be the 'twin towers', and just let Timmy defense.

that would be nice but his contract doesnt come of the books till 2012 and he'll be 28

i would trade for him but he might be a player that twolves might want to build around with

I would rather have lebron james. He could be like the next MJ of the nba.
How did you get to 1380 posts? Yes...we would love Lebron..but no..he won't be the next MJ..there won't be another MJ..Lebron is Lebron..period. That's it. You can't compare their games...they're different positions...Jordan was a better defender, had different rules that made it harder for guards and small forwards to score...and there was nobody even CLOSE to him when he was playing, while I don't even think Lebron is the best player in the league right now (Kobe).

Bosh is really good and is probably the closest thing the Spurs could get in terms of a Superstar. I mean , some of you guys are acting like the Spurs could have their pick of a franchise player or something. This isn't like a NBA 2K9 fantasy draft or something, and i would be excited if we got Bosh.

Same here. Gives me hope thinking Bosh would perhaps come to the Spurs.
Wait. Isn't Kevin Durant from Texas too?

Are you serious? Last year when the Raptors were having a strong season with Bosh leading the way people would not talk a bad word about him. One bad season and he is questioned with his pasion to win, his defensive ability and decision making?

Before Triano came in Bosh was having an NBA MVP level season because he was working in a system using him correctly. Whatever Jay Triano has been doing it has hurt Bosh's game.

Bosh has always put up good numbers, but he has always been criticized somewhat, just like Dirk. It is not his new coach, his numbers are about the same as they have always been.

Like I said, Dirk>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bosh and it is not even close and Dirk gets criticized all the time.

Bosh is very much an Antawn Jamison kind of player. Gives you 20/10 every game, but has very little impact because of his defense and general knowledge of the game.

I say pass even if there is a chance to sign him. But the thing is, the Spurs have no chance to begin with.

If you have a chance at Bosh and pass on Bosh who do you expect to get?

+10 man i love those fantasy drafts on that game....make it fun and frustrating at the same time....but yes Bosh no matter what stats hes putting out would fit nicely in our system and would be a monster to land along side Parker once Timmy and Manu are done. Think about it. A decent center, 2, or 3 (whoever it may be at the time)with Tp and Bosh would basically give us a solid big three...and even before then, just having Bosh play along side Timmy and learning from Pop and his staff would IMO boost his game big time. We could only hope to land such a caliber player in 2010.

Spurs have no chance to get Bosh, lets get that straight.

Here is what is going on in this thread:

    1) Spurs have 0 chance at landing Bosh in 2010.
    2) People are saying get Bosh, get Bosh.
    3) Some are saying they would pay him a max contract
    4) Many are saying that, yes Bosh would be a huge upgrade next to Duncan, but not at a Max contract value.
    5) Then we are back to understanding that the Spurs cannot get Bosh and even if they could, paying him max would be a mistake.

I would rather not spend the money and suck a few years to rebuild.
The issue is if you stick a max/near max contract, you have obligations to that certain player, you would kill any financial flexibility.

Point is, there are only 4 or 5 players in the league that deserves max $, but since GMs around the league acts like the money is going to burn a hole in their pocket if they don't spend, many teams are stuck with untradable contracts that eats away at their financial flexibility, and kills their chances of rebuilding.

how dont they have a chance to get bosh

spurs havent idicated about signing anyone in 2010 yet unless he sign an extension

he is from texas which mean when it comes 100% of his checks because toronto has a state tax or whatever so its a better payday

beleive me i wouldnt want to give bosh a max conract i think he i a great player not a franshise player unless his defense is going to get better

who is going to replace duncan? a duncan and bosh dual in 2010 if duncan is still averagin 20 and 10 would be scary unless ian has a break out season and the spurs decide to just make some kind of trade in 2010 but we dont got to many pieces to trade unless a 2011 1st round pick

    thats how i see it

i rather have a dual of jefferson and aldridge in the future but twolves might not trade a franchise player and we might have to wait until 2012 to get aldridge when duncan contract expires

Yes, Bosh + Duncan in 2010 would be great. Spurs do not have the money in 2010 to get Bosh. Spurs will have some money to spend on a solid player, but not a "max" player like Bosh.

over 20 million if the salary cap dosent increase i think if it increases 2 million and in 2010 2 million which it probably wont this offseason spurs could have about 30 million i heard which spurs could offer 2 15 mil a year contracts if they dont sign ginobili or anybody else

spurs would offer chris a 6 year 90 million contract and would have about a mle contract offer to still offer which could go to joe johnson or try to resgn ginobili or mason or bring splitter over

That is wildly incorrect. The Spurs will be at ~35M in 2010 with only TP, TD, Hill and Ian if they pick up his option. If the salary cap is ~58M like this year, that would leave the Spurs with 23M to spend. If they extend Manu at the same pay he is receiving now (if he gets an extension, you have to assume he was healthy, and in that case will not be getting a pay cut) which is ~10M, that leaves the Spurs with 13M to spend on 10 players. Bosh at 90M over 6 years would = 15M per year and the Spurs do not have that and they would be over the cap with only 6 players on the roster.

As you can see, that is not going to happen. Even if the Spurs do not extend Manu, they will have 23M to spend with 4 players on the roster. If they give Bosh 15M they will have 8M to spend with 5 players on the roster. There is no realistic scenario in which Bosh can come to SA.

32 million actually which is actually 26 million to spend thats even with a bad economy the nba will most lilely stll increase the salary cap becasue how well the playoffs have been IMO which could be about 61 million i hope we cant rule this out because with 8 million the spurs could still end up signing a couple of there own role player like gist, hairston, maybe even williams and there 2nd round pick this year

    06-07 salary cap:53 million
    07-08 salary cap:55 million
    08-09 salary cap:58 million

but hoepfully bosh could have has hist contract constucted as he can he a 2 million raise a year which in 2010 could start off his contract at 10 million a year and his last year at 20 million

at best i hope bosh dosent take this amount of money and would settle for maybe no more than 12 million a year but i feel bosh will have a great season this year and will get a good contract but who knows maybe we can land another big guy in a trade will be very intersting

I love to see CB4 at Spurs. He is good on both ends of the court. Seems like something don't work with Triano at Toronto. He is an all star level player. Bosh could be easily our next franchise player. But i don't know if we have enough cap space to offer a max contact. Anyway i could dream about it. TD and CP4 , i love it.

Bosh is the black bonner. Plays no D, soft as a pussy, poor shot blocker......ball hog....spurs should not sign him no matter what.

You s that clam for bosh, try watching him play, not see a clip on espn and say hes the man. The guys is worthless. Give bonner 40mpg and make him the first option on the team and see if he doesnt give u bosh numbers. You guys are clueless about basketball. Bosh is softer than bonner, hates contact, refuses to play d, and hogs the ball. He suck ass
Did you follow the Spurs this past season? Bonner started.

I really hope you're trolling because I refuse to believe Spurs fans can be that re ed.
