Now you're just cherry picking. Any idiot can pick out one call that went against his team and blame that for losing a one-point game.
Not at all. Baseline Bum tried to minimize the impact of 2 FT's, and I pointed out that those 2 FT's could have won a game in this series. 2 FT's in 1 point losses could have made a huge difference. Just like calling the technical on Mo could have been a huge difference.
But I never spoke about any ref conspiracies.
Now you're just cherry picking. Any idiot can pick out one call that went against his team and blame that for losing a one-point game.
overall ft wasnt bad. billups for 16 is pathetic. lebron cant even get that many anymore
Of course.
And the same idiots can also say the refs are handing the Lakers wins when they aren't.
It's obvious that those defending the Cavs here did not watch this game at all.
Several blown calls were momentum shifting calls that went against ORL. It's incredible that they still were able to fight through all of that and make it a game.
Case in point. Gortat sets himself up to draw the charge. Both feet clearly outside the restricted area. Firmly planted for a good second and a half. Takes the contact straight up and gets knocked on his ass. Easy call to make, especially considering the ref was behind him.
Blocking foul. Gortat gets upset, understandably, and gets T'd up. That's a 3pt swing right there. When you're trying to get back into the game and those calls happens it completely swings momentum from one side to the other.
Those kind of calls went on all throughout the game. Anyone who watched from start to finish knows that the Cavs benefited from some incredibly incompetent officiating.
Just like the Nuggets last night?![]()
If you don't want Billups shooting FTs, you better get a PG who's not a defensive turnstile like Fisher. I'm pretty sure LeBron could get that easily with LA's PGs defending him.
This isn't about the Nuggets.
If you want to believe that the refs were fair tonight and gave the Magic a fair shake then go ahead. I know what I saw and so do about 99% of the people in the game thread who were posting while the game was going on. I don't care about what you read in the box score.
You're cherry-picking because you're biased against Cleveland the same way every Laker fan who can't deal with LeBron being better than Kobe is.
About 99% of the game thread were cheering Hedo when he hit that shot to put them up 95-93.
Then about 99% of the game thread were like you LeBron.
And the same fans who are saying that was a perfectly called game are cherry-picking the Lakers wins being "Ref won" because they're biased against Kobe and they can't deal with Kobe being a great player.
The Lakers are winning, in spite of, the refs; not because of them.
Wow I'm amazed at the posters here just blinded by their hate of the lakers that they can't even acknowledge that this was one of the worst officiated games of the playoffs so far. The facts are clearly stated and even shown in video...
Spurs fans know an "Ed Hochuli" like call and will never forget the debacles known as .4 or the Fisher-No Call against Barry. In those 2 cases, critical to the Spurs and their fans, the refs, in essence, GAVE the Lakers victories. It's that simple. The Mavs now know how it feels to have the NBA make an apology after the fact, when we all know, it doesn't mean in the real world. It's an admission that doesn't change anything.
They are literally blinded by their hatred
+1 Fisher is not a popular guy around here.![]()
Yup...play selections might have been different later in the game. EVERYTHING affects the outcome, not just one call, unless that call is right at the end of the game (cough...cough...Fisher...Barry...cough...cough).
it's just because lakers are soft. Without ref help lakers will be 0 FTA every game
It's a tech to D12 too. He hits Mo after the refs call.
What D12 did is something that is rarely called in basketball. The Celtics do it ALL the time and get away with it.
You can't even begin to compare that to throwing a ing basketball at someone. At least in D12's case you can say he was trying to prevent the And-1.
You gotta love how much vitriol flows from Lakers fans when they see the one player touted to be better than Kobe wins a close playoff game.
YEP! THE GAME WAS FIXED! That's why with less than a minute left and the game seemingly hanging in the balance, they whistled LeBron for a travel. Because they want the Cavs to win and will do anything to make that happen.
How easy would it have been for the official to swallow his whistle? Traveling calls are missed all the time in the NBA, and it would have just been passed off. Instead, they gave Orlando the ball.
Let's review:
The best defensive team in the league has played two home games against the premiere jumpshooting/3 point team in the league.
The Cavs have pushed out to huge leads in both games. They lost one game in which they shot THREE more freethrows and won a game in which they shot ONE more. They have shot 4 more freethrows in 2 home games than the Magic.
But no, you're right. The officials are completely biased.
I just hope someday you are on the receiving end of what it's like to be when the fix really IS in against your team, when the other team shoots 20+ more freethrows than your team. It shows just how pampered Lakers fans are that they think a game like last night was "horrible officiating".
No. Horrible officiating would have meant the Cavs shooting 35+ free throws last night and winning by 25.
@ Lakers fans. EVERYTHING is about you. The ECF isn't about Cavs vs. Magic, it's about proving how "fairly" Lakers playoff games have been officiated, which, for the record, is NOT just a "Laker hate" phenomenon. JJ Adande even stated that he worried about G7 of the Lakers-Rockets being fixed by officiating. You have to be the most insecure fanbase in all of sports. You guys make Yankee fans look positively philanthropic.

It's not just Laker fans who were calling out the officiating in Game 2. It was Spur fans as well. Check the game thread.
The same fans who are yelling @#*! LeBron.
Yeah! They're really are an objective source!
Personally, I like both the Magic and Cavs. I could care less who wins the series. I thought the officiating was pretty bad last night, but it didn't favor the Cavs much, if at all. I saw a ton of blown calls on both sides.
Actually there were several Spur fans who literally said they would have to stop rooting for the Cavs after how bad the officiating was at one point.
I would say the momentum shifting calls all went the Cavs way. A block that should have been a charge while the Magic were trying to mount a comeback. A technical foul that should have been called that led to a Mo Williams 3. Plays like that occured all throughout the game.
I just don't see the point. We can rail on and on about how the officiating is fixed this way or that, but the only way to protest, really protest, is to turn off your TV sets and not purchase anything associated with the NBA product. Officials make tons of mistakes because of the speed of the game, and are also swayed (often very swayed) by home crowds (excepting numerous complaints by Lakers' fans to the contrary this post-season). But that isn't going to change. If you buy into this whole "NBA conspiracy" thing, just turn off your TV's. Simple as that. Nothing will change if you watch every time just so you can cry, moan, and on a messageboard.
