McGrady has surgery on shoulder
Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady has had his second surgery of the year, undergoing shoulder arthroscopy three months after having a microfracture procedure on his knee, the Houston Chronicle reported.
According to Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, the surgery Friday won't hamper McGrady's return to basketball activities amid rehabilitation for the knee operation.
"It is not an issue that would keep him longer than the other rehab," Morey told the newspaper. "They cleaned up the shoulder. It is something we talked about for awhile and they had some time now."
McGrady, who led the NBA in scoring in 2002-03 with 32.1 points per game and in 2003-04 with 28.0 while with the Orlando Magic, was limited to a career-low 35 games this season, his fifth with the Rockets.
McGrady had said last year his shoulder was arthritic and could require surgery after this season.
"I wouldn't say it was necessary," Morey said. "But in getting some opinions, it was decided it was better to do it and to hopefully be pain-free when he gets back."
The seven-time All-Star sprained his shoulder in a game against the Sacramento Kings in March 2008, and wore padding to protect it for the rest of last season.
He also had surgery last May to clear loose tissue in his shoulder and knee.

TMac's still gettin paid though.
23 million dollars for knee and shoulder surgery. Well worth the money. We can rebuild him, make him stronger, faster, and then trade him.
Is Houston going to resign Artest or what?
Depends on what he is asking for. I believe the Rockets think he is decent, but our offense needs to be more effecient and he is not the answer for that. I think they might be trying to sign Sessions or someone else first and then he would be the backup plan, if they fail to pick him up. Also kinda depends on what they get for McGrady as well. If we can get an above average wing in return ala Redd, Richardson, Jefferson, Wallace, etc. then there really is no reason too resign him but it remains to be seen what product will be on the floor next year. Time will tell.
For $23,000,000 next year I would just about let the cut on anything but Wilbur.
he should have surgery on his eye, cross eyed lazy ass Mcgrady
did he sprain his ankle climbing onto the gurney?
The irony is eerie.
McGrady idolizes Penny Hardaway whom had his best years in Orlando, stuggled with injuries and is traded out west before his career was essentially ended via micro-fracture.
McGrady wheres the number one, plays for Orlando, struggles with injuries before and after he was traded to Houston and his career is offically DONE now that he is having a microfracture.
Tmac better be calling the MakeAWish foundation right about now. At this rate he'll be dead by 35...Houston needs a ring!
Jeez, Tmac has every part of his body ed up.
LMAO son ... so wrong, but so damn funny.
