American Gangster.
Could have been a classic if it had more Denzel, and less Russel Crowe. It's pretty good, but definitely didn't live up to expectations.
"How much for 1 rib"?And then he had a load of money in his pocket.

Movie reviews 20 years later is so lame. I'm sure jaws and Close encounters of the third kind seem lame compared to today's special effects. Just like 20 years from now your kids will be talking about how lame the departed is.

Jaws & Close Encounters - GREATNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that's it.
even though it was based on a true story, I thought it ripped off some from scarface.
American Ganster is better than Scarface.
I concur.
+1 I still have my original JAWS t-shirt.![]()
I disagree.
If you want to really Judge Scarface fairly? Compare it to what was around at the time. The God Father and Eddie & The Cruisers. those were a few movies available at the time. No other movie in 1983 showed coke deals, talked about eating pussy, and exposed Miami for being the Coke connection years before the 80s when the coke really came later in full force. It's like trying to compare the 2009 Lakers to the Bulls of the 80s different times ,different rules.stick with an era...
I'm sure Tyson can knock out Ali does that make him better?
My kids loved E.T. though.
Whoa dude! I still remember standing in line @ the Broadway Theater (yea, there used to be a theatre on Broadway) for hours with my plastic shark waiting to see Jaws.

Well everyone's got their opinions, brah.
I still haven't watched Godfather 1,2 or 3. I can't watch a movie for 4 hours. I fall asleep.
Eddie & The Cruisers.![]()
I would have preferred it without either one.
I concur. All the "what is the best...movie, song, band...etc." threads are nothing but opinion based threads.
I like both of them. But that is just my opinion.![]()
Blood In, Blood Out is better than Scarface.
you need a certain level of male testosterone and manly behavior to enjoy Scarface.
Sorry! For you, I recommend The Crying Game.
Never heard of it.
American Me was better than Blood in Blood Out
If this guy says it's a good movie, it's the exact opposite. Good call, stretch![]()
