There is a vast difference between minor children who are there not by choice and adult children who decide to make themselves into public figures. Britsol Palin has decdied as an adult to become a public person herself who gives speeches and TV appearances (like GMA) to tout her views. She lost the right to claim she is off-limits because she is not "just" Palin's daughter anymore. Same with Meghan McCain. She can not (and has not attempted to) hide behind being John McCain's daughter because she has created her own public persona on TV shows and her blog.
