And yet they still did everything in their power to market themselves as counter-culture.
My guess is, hair bands didn't really worry about whether you thought they were gay or not when they were living the sex, drugs, rock n' roll life in the 80s.
Rob Halford, the best heavy metal vocalist in the world is gay.![]()

That's the point. Things haven't gotten weirder or crazier, just the social norms have shifted. The kid in the OP probably gets a ton of attention from girls, whether he's gay or straight.
Overall, there has been a huge shift towards the ambiguously silly term "metrosexual", which is all considered acceptable and even expected from certain segments of the female population.
I never said they did.
What's your point? That it's gay?My point was that girls have always gone for what seems ridiculous, which is just a light-hearted counterpoint to the topic's original post? Last I checked, getting laid by tons of women doesn't count as "gay".
You really think he's getting laid? Since he's Emo, perhaps he tortures himself by putting his schlong and inch away from the lips of his lover for hours on end.
emo in the 00s is what punk was in the 80s
Not really. Punk in the early 80's actually stood for something more than just a fashion statement.
Umm, no.
no.
Yeah! We stood for neon EVERYTHING! WOOOOO!
Since you said no, who is the best HEAVY METAL vocalist in the world?
That wasn't early 80's punk.
This emo is just a cry for attention.
just keep your emo/punk/rock/screaming music away from my ears and I have no problem with how you look.
its been perpetuated by those gay ass "vampires" from twilight.
cry havoc... you seem to be defending the trend more than anyone here? are you "into" the emo scene?
just asking..
robert plant?
considering I've heard critics call pink floyd's 'the wall' the best hard rock album of all time, this might work.
i think that guy on the right looks like paul gasol...

eh, i have long hair to my ass but give me a break... like i said earlier, i haven't seen that hair cut since 7th grade on all the chicks back then. that dude's gay!
i was unaware robert plant sang any "heavy metal" is all I was alluding to, but since all of us have different definitions for everything, I agreed with you.
Old, Bruce inson and DIO.
New, probably Maynard, depending on what you view heavy metal as.
Layne Staley's a good one too.
Sorry, i just really hate JP.
