Naaaa... I would pass on Oberto... he is done... I would prefer to have KT back...

Lost in all of this, Richard Jefferson, I can't vouch for his clutchness or whatever, but he's pretty much a talented Stephen Jackson.
He's also a pretty good defender.
god please turn that into Kaman... :pray
How long will NBA.com let me?
I've always been a big fan of Richard Jefferson, he's a very class guy, great great individual, in other words, a typical Spur.
Agree. Mason (a decent player) + Bonner + future first round pick(s) should eb able to fetch a quit good big.
It's going to take me until Thursday to wrap my head around this. And by Thursday I'm sure more things will happen. I followed the tweets this morning and was thinking something may happen.
Not saying Jefferson is a bad move. And fingers crossed Bruce comes back. I just don't care too much for Fab. He's an alright guy and he has his moments, but I won't cry if he leaves. And Kurt Thomas too, no tears will be shed.
Is the MLE tiered or not allowable under certain conditions? I thought the MLE and LLE were exceptions that allowed teams over the cap to sign FA's.
You guys don't think we should make a run at Gortat first? I'd like to see if we could get Gortat and Gooden signed, but that would require someone to do a S&T for us to get rid of Bonner and possible Mason or Splitter rights.
looks like we have our first opponent for opening night!
I definitely bring Oberto back, at least as long as he doesn't get a $2 million offer elsewhere, which I doubt he would. Oberto's game has never been built around athleticism or anything that deteriorates throughout a career. His game is built on being a smart basketball player who gets in the right place at the right time, and has a great chemistry with Tim and Manu. What's not to like about that for the vet minimum?
Lose Bonner, and get a legitimate Center and retain Drew at backup PF and this will be an amazing offseason.
You're correct. But the Spurs will be well over the cap so they get both exceptions.
I am unsure about resigning Oberto, assuming buyout. While he's not done in a statistical sense (1.6 Win shares in 677 minutes last year, which is decent), I am strongly concerned about his heart issues...
You know what's funny ? I completely forgot that Mason was even on our team. Not funny..ha ha...funny..sad.
I don't like Gortat for the price he will be paid this summer.
Now, you had to keep in mind the luxury tax. Unlike signing FA, doing a trade don't raise team's salary and won't put Spurs further in the luxury tax area.
dude, I've forgot about our series with the mavs, at least concerning Mason. Pop misused him. Hill won't be relegated to the bench only now and he shouldn't be playing 2guard on offense anymore.
This offseason would be perfect if we could somehow bring back Gooden, and trade Bonner+picks/maybe Mason for a decent rebounding Center.
No offense, but Gooden. I want DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE next to Tim. If that DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE doesn't come equipped with much or any O, it.
If Gooden is available for the MLE and we've exhausted better defenders, grab him and be happy. But I need some D back in my spurs basketball Diet.
I'm excited. I fully expect Bowen to be bought out and return to the Spurs. I hope we can get KT back too.

So true. The past two years they've lost Brent Barry and now Bruce.
I feel like a kid on Christmas day. Now I'm excited about this upcoming season!![]()
i know this is beside the point of the topic, but also thinking the spurs have the rights to tiago next year, sleeper ian this year, keeping gooden, and the rookies gist and hill! i think i am gona myself. full faith back in the spurs FO and 2010 CHAMPS!
Do you think this trade is a setup to trade Manu elsewhere? So, they will have enough dough to get a quality center?
Damn, Thomas for Jefferson.I take back all the I said about RC. If they can go out and get Dice or Sheed with the MLE this team could seriously contend again.
I think this means that the Spurs front office is planning on keeping Mason, bringing in Gist, and has some confidence that Mahinimi will be able to contribute this year.
I wonder how much cash they have to actually buy a first round pick now?
In any event.... this is awesome news. BTW, I think I remember reading something about RJ having knee surgery a few years ago, any status on his knee now?
