I remember having a sleepover with all my friends, lip synching and dancing to "Rock With You" and "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" half the night.
That sucks. He was great. And I will always believe he never touched any kids.

Agreed with both, though I realize now I never really imagined him passing. I had him pegged as an eventual recluse.
Thriller and Smooth Criminal are two of the most iconic music videos in history. It's horrible that he died at such a young age. It's too bad he was mired in controversy pretty much from the 90's on.
I'm pretty sure there's more than a few people here who fell on their ass trying to do that extreme lean move that he did in Smooth Criminal.
Damn look at the very first comment on TMZ ouch...

Thriller...the video where he's a zombie back from the dead....too soon MTV too soon
What about the Bad video? Directed by frickin' Martin Scorsese!
I'm drinking a Pepsi in honor of the King of Pop. Long live the 80's
Wrong. They never 'refused' to play black artists. They had a black VJ as one of the original 4.
Eddie Grant, Tina Turner and Donna Summer all had videos on MTV before MJ.
Michael Jackson first video appeard about a year after MTV started.
I will never forget being a kid and trying to recreate all these dance routines.
And featuring Wesley Snipes.
Amazing
I dont think thats appropriate, but I can understand it.
If he really is guilty and really abused kids, I have no respect for this guy at all. Even if he is dead, even if he is the king of pop Michael Jackson.
oh man I drank a can of pepsi too as a tribute.
RIP Jacko
MJ still owned the rights to the Beatles' songs, right?
He sold them if I remember correctly.
There are no words here, as this was totally unexpected!
This is as shocking as loading CNN.com and seeing John Ritter dead.
I'm sitting here with my jaw to the floor.
What a sad week.
I believe he had to sell those as he was going broke.
Edit: Along with Sony, he still owns them. He gets 50% of the royalties every time a beatles song is played.

What is this talk of suicide?
Everything I hear is he died from cardiac arrest.
Apparently, it's not uncommon for men around the age of 50, especially African-American men.
I believe Sony paid him about $100 million to share the rights. So I think he/Sony co-owned them for the last few years.
Be nice if this thread died too. Who cares about the pervert?
I just want to know how Keith Richards is still alive. MJ dies at 50, Keith Richards is still alive. Makes no sense
