I remember that there was a short note stating that the Spurs had talked to Blair. Does anybody remember?

Remember how Shaq had trouble with Malik's strength and low center of gravity... Blair has that low center of gravity, and may be even stronger - he's certainly heavier. He'll give any big w/o a perimeter jumpshot real trouble (Hi Dwight, Bynum...).
Jermaine Taylor to Rockets for cash
notice how quick our pick was? haha! I bet pop and crew couldn't believe their luck and what a no brainer... lol!
Now if only we can trade something for Young. And this will be our best draft in a long while in my book.
dammit, the bobcats got brown
Awww . There goes Brown. GRRRRRRRR.
Spurs better be keeping Blair.
WTF? How does Stu actually get this job if he doesn't know about Brown as a player?
what are the odds that Pop's rerlationship with Larry Brown could come to play?
Trade Blair for Speedy Claxton and go get Sheed...?
and all we need is green now and what a night it will be!![]()
So Blair isn't that tall. Barkley was only 6'6".
If budenger can fall a littel farther....would be a great scorer for the 2nd team
I just can't see the Spurs trading off this pick. They were targeting a big guy who can hit the boards, and they got one. Pop even said they'd be looking to improve the 4, and this is about as good as I think we could've hoped for there.
Charlotte is steadily building a nice roster
No one is worried about a guy who's 6'7" and 277 lbs not named Lebron? Doesn't sound any alarms? Not to mention that the Lakers are the target, and Gasol, Bynum and Odom (if he stays) are all 6'10" and up with long arms to boot.
You can't teach size, and I don't think this helps the Spurs defend the Lakers frontcourt. Not fond of the pick.
I'm reading reports that doctors "couldn't find his ACL's" in MRIs. Remember last year when team's couldn't get Batum's heart evaluation (trying to fall to the Spurs)? Did the Spurs pull something similar with Blair? Probably not, but it's possible.
I think Blair personality is very similar to Arenas in the sense that being pickd so late will mkae him go out with something to prove.

7 (37)San Antonio (from Golden State through Phoenix)DeJuan Blair6-7 277 PF Pittsburgh Are you kidding me? How do these guys fall into San Antonio's lap? Tony Parker at 29? Ginobili late in the second? Now Blair here? This is a great pick for the Spurs. He may be able to start in San Antonio if Duncan plays the 5. This late in the draft, his knee issues aren't really much of a risk -- he's just a really cheap rebounder. The Spurs are getting an A+ tonight.
I have to disagree with Bilas. Dejuan Blair is not heartbroken right now. I have a feeling the quick pick was Pop's way of saying that Blair is the Spurs' guy.
