    WTF?

How many people here get blasted for being "bandwagon" fans? And you're suggesting DoK latches on to another team just because things are going ty? Nice to see where you'll be if the unthinkable bottom out after Tim Duncan retires.

    Fail, dude. Epic fail.

I commend DoK for being faithful to the franchise he loves while being honest about the bag that is the starting point guard.
Thick and thin, Stump. Thick and thin.
    Amen!

IMO, a true fan is one that supports his team, yet can maintain a degree of objectivity and doesn't mind criticizing the FO and players when warranted. I've come to respect DOK's position on any and all things Suns because, while he's a lifelong fan, he can look beyond his fandom and see things for how they really are. He doesn't feel compelled to accept any and every decision made by ownership and management.

Sarver has jerked that franchise from one philosophy to another during his tenure. His flip-flopping and poor decisions have caused the type of chaos that usually dooms organizations and companies.

Looking back on it, I'm shocked that Nashy didn't have Sarver/Kerr blown the up by a canadian car bomb when they let D'Umbtoni walk.
Kerr came in with a plan of changing the culture of showpony, defenseless smallball. Good idea but he forgot to cut loose of the headmaster of this 3 ring circus and now he's got the same ole smallish ing squad he had when he took over....except its got a less talent, and its incapable of even 50+ and fade. Nice goin Kerr. Get some balls and cut loose of MV Steve while you've still gotta job.

Yes, everyone is under the impression Nash is a great teammate that loves everyone. If Nash wasn't that gay "little white boy that could" storybook athlete, The media would be tearing him apart right now. The only difference between Nash and Allen Iverson is their skin color......oh and Iverson has actually played in the finals.

Thats quite possibly the dumbest thing Ive ever read on this forum.

    Edutcate yourself, idiot:

    Controversy

Iverson has often been a controversial figure, dating back to his teenage years, including some troubles with the law.

1993: This incident was profiled on the television news magazine 60 Minutes due to claims of racial bias in the adjudication of the case. L. Douglas Wilder, at the time Governor of Virginia, became convinced that Iverson had been treated unfairly and controversially granted Iverson clemency, releasing him from his sentence. Iverson's conviction was later overturned on appeal.[5]

1997: Iverson, along with his friends, was stopped by policemen for speeding late at night and was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and for possession of marijuana. He pleaded no contest and was sentenced to community service.[27]

2000: Iverson recorded a rap single named 40 Bars. However, after being criticized for its controversial lyrics, he eventually was unable to release it. Going under his moniker, "Jewelz", the album was alleged to have made derogatory remarks about sexuals. After criticism from activist groups and NBA Commissioner David Stern, he agreed to change the lyrics, but ultimately never released the album.[28]

2002: Iverson allegedly threw his wife Tawanna out of their mansion during a fight. The following night, an enraged Iverson later went looking for his wife at his cousin's apartment.

2004: During the latter part of the 2003–2004 season, Iverson bristled under the disciplinarian approach of the Sixers' new head coach Chris Ford. This led to a number of contentious incidents, including Iverson being suspended for missing practice, fined for failing to notify Ford that Iverson would not attend a game because he was sick, and refusing to play in game because he felt "insulted" that Ford wanted Iverson to come off the bench as he worked his way back from an injury.[29]

On February 24, 2004, Iverson, a noted regular casino patron, was spotted at Bally's Park Place in Atlantic City urinating in a trash can in full view of staff and patrons. He was told by casino management not to return.[30]

When the 2004 United States Olympic team gathered in Jacksonville, Florida for its first exhibition game, Iverson was late. He was suspended for the game.[31]

2005: On December 9, 2005 after the Sixers defeated the Charlotte Bobcats, Iverson paid a late-night visit to the Trump Taj Mahal. After winning a hand at a three-card-stud poker table, Iverson was overpaid $10,000 in chips by a dealer. When the dealer quickly realized the mistake and requested the chips back, Iverson refused and a heated head-turning argument between him and casino staff began. Atlantic City casino regulations reportedly state that when a casino makes a payout mistake in favor of the gambler, he or she must return the money that they did not legitimately win by playing.[30]

Also in 2005, Iverson's bodyguard Jason Kane was accused of assaulting a man at a Washington DC nightclub after the man, Marlin Godfrey, refused to leave the club's VIP section so Iverson's entourage could enter. Godfrey suffered a concussion, a ruptured eardrum, a burst blood vessel in his eye, a torn rotator cuff, cuts and bruises, and emotional injuries. Although Iverson did not touch Godfrey himself, Godfrey sued Iverson for the injuries caused by his bodyguard. In 2007 a jury awarded Godfrey $260,000. The U.S. Court of Appeals upheld the verdict in 2009.[32]

NBA Dress Code: In 2005, NBA commissioner David Stern banned what critics and supporters call "hip-hop culture"-related attire such as Mitc & Ness brand throwback jerseys, baggy jeans, crooked baseball caps, do-rags, knee-length t-shirts, large items of jewelry, and Timberland boots. Punishment for violations would include fines and possible suspensions for repeat violations.[33] Iverson harshly criticized Stern's dress code, saying that it "would not change a person's character regardless of what type of clothing they wore", and that "associating hip-hop styles of dress with violent crime, drugs, or a bad image is racist." Iverson also said that the advertising of many prominent NBA sponsors, such as Nike, Reebok, Puma and Adidas were heavily influenced by hip-hop culture.

2007: Iverson was fined $25,000 by the NBA for criticizing referee Steve Javie following a game between the Nuggets and Iverson's former team, the Philadelphia 76ers, played January 2, 2007. During the course of the game, Iverson committed two technical fouls and was ejected from the game. After the game, Iverson said, "I thought I got fouled on that play, and I said I thought that he was calling the game personal I should have known that I couldn't say anything anyway. It's been something personal with me and him since I got in the league. This was just the perfect game for him to try and make me look bad."[34]

I once saw an interview with Iverson with Stephen A. Smith. He asked Iverson to describe himself with one word.

    Iverson's answer: "Killa"

S.A.S. then asked him to describe Carmelo Anthony with a single word.

Iverson thought about for at least one minute and then said:

    "Killa"

S.A.S. then asked him to describe Carmelo Anthony AND Allen Iverson.

Again, A.I. thought about for a couple of minutes and then said:

    "Killa duo".

Two years ago I saw the best regular season game of my life when the Suns and Mavericks went to double overtime. The crazy part was the Suns were down by like 7 with under a minute to go. Nash managed to get fouled while shooting a three and drilled another and I thought "that guy NEVER gives up". Nash is a defensive liability but it isnt due to heart.

To say that the only difference between these two is "skin color" is not only ignorant but offensive.

You should stop posting. Youre ing clueless.

I love it even more. Where Iverson has a "controversy" section in his bio, Nash has the following:

    Off the court

Personal lifeNash has a brother, Martin, who plays for the Vancouver Whitecaps and has made 30 appearances for the Canadian national soccer team.[3] He also has a sister, Joann, who was the captain of the University of Victoria women's soccer team for three years and was named one of the Canada West Universities Athletic Association All-Stars.[8][57] Nash is married to his longtime girlfriend, Alejandra Amarilla, whom he met in 2001 in Manhattan. They married in June 2005, and they have twin girls, Lola and Bella, who were born on 14 October 2004.[9]

Nash suffers from a medical condition called spondylolisthesis which causes muscle tightness and back pain. Due to his condition, when he is not in the game, rather than sitting on the bench, he lies on his back to keep his muscles from stiffening.[58]

    Charity
In 2001, Nash formed the Steve Nash Foundation. Through grants to public service and nonprofit en ies, the Foundation aims to foster health in kids by funding projects that provide services to children affected by poverty, illness, abuse, or neglect, and create opportunity for education, play, and empowerment. It focuses its resources on communities in Phoenix, Arizona, and British Columbia, Canada. It was given charitable status in 2004.[3] This foundation was awarded the Steve Patterson Award for Excellence in Sports Philanthropy in 2008.[59] Nash also founded the Jim Jennings Memorial Endowment Fund, established in honour of a volunteer staff member at Santa Clara University who served the basketball team for more than 20 years.[11]

Elsewhere, Nash is the sponsor of the Steve Nash Youth Basketball League in British Columbia that has grown over 10,000 participants.[9] He has also become involved with GuluWalk, a Canadian-operated charitable organization that raises awareness and funds for the war-affected children of northern Uganda. In September 2007, Nash and Yao Ming headlined a group of NBA players who travelled to China and played an exhibition game with the Chinese national basketball team. The charity event reportedly raised 2.5 million dollars, earmarked for Chinese children in need.[60] In May 2006, Nash was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. In the accompanying write-up by Charles Barkley, Nash was lauded for his unselfishness on the basketball court, and being "just a nice guy" who had paid for a new pediatric cardiology ward in a Paraguayan hospital.[61]

    Endorsements
Nash is known to be selective about endorsing products, preferring to work with companies he deems socially responsible. (YEAH....JUST LIKE IVERSON!!) After winning his first MVP award, he was approached to be the spokesperson for numerous products, including MDG Computers, Raymond Weil watches, Vitamin Water, and Clearly Canadian bottled water.[62] He also has a longstanding relationship with Nike.[63] Like fellow NBA stars Yao Ming, Carmelo Anthony, and Greg Oden, Nash is represented by agent Bill Duffy.[64]

    Soccer
Nash grew up playing soccer—he stated in a 2005 interview that he could have played professionally if he had focused on it[65]—and continues to hold an interest in the sport. When Dirk Nowitzki arrived in the NBA from Germany, he and Nash became close friends, in part because they enjoyed watching soccer together. Nash is friends with several professional soccer players, including Alessandro Del Piero, Thierry Henry, Owen Hargreaves, Massimo Ambrosini and Steve McManaman.[66] During his off-season, when he lives in New York City, he has trained with the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer,[67] and once tried to arrange a pick-up game in the city's Central Park with the Red Bulls and one of his local teams.[68]

Nash—whose father was born in the Tottenham district of London—is a lifelong Tottenham Hotspur supporter, and has expressed interest in owning a minority stake in the club. "I'd like to be an owner. It's something I could do for the rest of my life after my little window of popularity dies," he said in an interview with The New York Times.[69] Nash added, "I've been a passionate supporter all my life. My parents are from north London and so it's not like I'm some Yank who wants to make a profit out of football. I don't care about making money. I just want to see Spurs succeed and, if I can help, that's great." However, he said any participation in Spurs would come after his basketball career is over, and he has had only "casual contact" with chairman Daniel Levy and former director of football Damien Comolli.[70] Nash has also said that he intends to bring Major League Soccer to Vancouver as early as 2011.[71]

Nash, along with former Yahoo! president and fellow Victoria-native Jeff Mallett, are investors in Women's Professional Soccer, a soccer league that will be launched in April 2009. Nash cited his twin daughters and wanting to have role models for them to look up to as a reason for supporting the league.[72] Nash also co-hosted Showdown in Chinatown in 2008, an 8-on-8 charity soccer game held at Sara D. Roosevelt Park. He scored two goals in his team's 8–5 victory. Participants included Thierry Henry, Jason Kidd, Baron Davis, and Suns teammates Raja Bell and Leandro Barbosa.[73]

    Other interests
Nash and a Montreal-based partner, Leonard Schlemm, opened the first Steve Nash Sports Club in the spring of 2007 in downtown Vancouver, a high-end, $5-million, 38,500-square-foot (3,580 m2) facility that will mirror Nash's own fitness philosophy.[74]

In 2007, Nash wrote and produced an 81-second commercial for Nike led "Training Day", directed by Julian Schnabel's daughter Lola, which gained popularity as a viral video on YouTube.[75] Nash also started a film production company together with his cousin, filmmaker Ezra Holland, and intends to produce independent films.[75] The first creative effort to come from Meathawk was a 91-second commercial, led "The Sixty Million Dollar Man", for Nike's eco-friendly Trash Talk shoe, the first high-performance shoe to be made—at the behest of the environmentally conscious Nash—from recycled materials. Nash has worn the shoe since February 2008 but Nike produced only 5,000 pairs for sale. The ad which broke virally on Earth Day 2008, was written by Nash and the directors of the spot, Danny Vaia and Ezra Holland. It is a spoof remake of the le sequence of the American television series The Six Million Dollar Man and plays on Nash’s numerous on-court collisions. Amaré Stoudemire and Raja Bell have cameo appearances.[76][77][78]

Ohhhhhhhhh!!! You started a poll, logged in as all your alts and voted for yourself thirty times!

Wait. Thats not true either! First, you logged in as an alt and started the poll pretending to be a third-party mediator ("Ive noticed that these two were arguing and just wanted to start a poll over 'who is the better poster'").

The thing is...they may hate me for bashing their team (Laker fans) and their leader and his stupid joke (FinDog and the stupid bit from the Ratatouille guy), but even they have enough brain cells to acknowledge that your analogy between Nash and Iverson is ing stupid.

On the contrary. Not everyone hates me. Those who do include:

    1) The KFC Crew
    2) Laker fans
    3) You and all of your alts.

I put the KFC crew all on ignore. It really isnt worth my time debating whether or not standing for the pledge is somehow an endorsement of the Bush administration.

Likewise, your posts are so beyond reason Im starting to think its not worth my time.

I mean, seriously. Who says that the only difference between Nash and Iverson is their skin color? Not only are they polar opposites "personality-wise", but their games arent very similar either.

This isnt the first asinine post youve made. In fact, its pretty much the norm with you.

I wish you luck in the future and hope that you start to mature soon.
