the worst is playing the Tech linebackers and they foul the out of you and they wont give you any callI would have come but it's kinda a long drive from Phoenix
Be thankful you guys don't have the problem UA's rec center has with tons of Asians that call foul whenever they miss a shot.

Actually, the worst is the 6'5" 300+ pound fat piece of that plays at the UA rec center that camps in the paint knowing that I'm not going to be puss enough to call three in the key. He also has no post moves, he just backs into the person guarding him, which is usually me, knowing that offensive fouls don't get called in pickup games. I'm 6'2" 225, by no means small, and the day after I guard him I feel like I got ed by a train.
Ya, I am just squirmy. I am a small dude, so if I have to guard someone bigger than me that is serious about going down low all the time I struggle. I can get away with guarding perimeter guys who are bigger.
Yeah for some reason I do ok when I'm switched onto quicker players. I'm not athletic at all but I've got this uncanny ability to stay in front of quicker players I'm guarding. Defense is the only reason I'm useful at all in pickup basketball.
My specialty is guarding the really lanky player that plays down low and likes to grab offensive boards. Whenever I guard that type of player he always gets frustrated.

I think that's what I'm going to do from now on. Back before I lost weight when I was a porker my friend would guard me and poke me in the back and it would drive me crazy, but whining about someone who weighs 100 pounds less than you playing dirty makes you look like a puss. I think I'm employ that strategy next year.

It was still brutally hot today. Thank goodness for some of that over cast. Playing indoor is sooooooooooooooooo nice.
I'm a pretty physical player but there's not much you can do really when you go to the rec and run against 4 texas tech linebackers who take cheap shots all game. still the most physical game i've ever played only because it was outright dirty. we had a high flyer on our team who was windmilling before the game who ended up fracturing his tibia because it was getting so rough
I guarantee you PHX was worse.
Ya, this game is nothing like that. No high fliers and not all that physical, just more crowded.

It's disgusting. When I get in my car, by the time the AC has cooled the seats down, my entire back is sweaty because of how hot the seat was before I turned the car on.

Haha nice I know a few girls who went there, graduated 04 05. I went to Pinnacle. When i am down in Phoenix i usually ball at the Lifetime Fitness off the 101 if you are ever around there.
Yeah I usually go with friends to my old middle school cause the gym near my house either has no one or too many people for basketball.
So its a shortened full court out there?
