I know..it's horrible. I have a studio at my house and I had a small independent hip hop label. I record these guys because it makes me some money..but it sucks to see what hip hop has turned in to.

It's one thing to see some guy you never heard of suck.....but it get more pissed off every time Eminem comes out with a new song. How the do you go from the Marshall Mathers LP to doing a song with in Jessica Simpson. It's painful to see the joke that Eminem has become.

I hope Em changes around...I don't think that was really Jessica though..I think he was making fun of her. I will say "My Mom" wasn't horrible though, on the new album.

Either way the song sucked. He went from angry, genuine rap to sellout phony rap that 14 year old girls like to hear. "Mockingbird" was horrible. I get a headache listening to that song.

I'm not an over-the-top Eminem fan, but it tends to happen either with success and/or complacency.

For example, Common used to be raw lyrically and less predictable....now he's a softer, wacker version of what he was 1995 and up because he's more marketable now and thus more successful.

I rhyme and vowed the same would never happen to me regardless of the cir stances, but their are many artists who peak and then fall off to either try and conform for one last shot at s om or simply to keep up with the trends....or those that experience success and lose the hunger.

They conform because that's where the money's at. Plain and simple. They are selling out. I can't imagine Eminem would rather sing "Crack a Bottle" than "Under the Influence", it's easy to tell because of the emotion in his early CD's he doesn't have in his current music.

Either way, Eminem is still a musical genius when it comes to lyrics...but yeah, it's been couple years and I still listen to Em's old hits regularly.

And I hope ronron stays for the year in houston. Love his post-game interviews.

Yup and the industry is much more "hit-driven" than it was before people knew how to market rap. Now there's a lame formula like in almost every other genre which limits how much can actually get out there at the moment.

I've been listening to hip-hop a long long time and they all sell out. Except for maybe Chuck D, KRS-1, De La, and Aceleyone. Of course Chuck D, KRS-1, and De La can live on past accomplishments, while Aceleyone never really got paid. Anything Common did after Resurrection except for that joint he did with De La and a couple others pretty much suck.
