I live in the Heights in the loop and love it. Great food, good museums/cultural events. I've actually enjoyed it more than Austin.
I just hope this isn't another Sheed heartbreak. This just seems like a no-brainer but apparently McDyess loves Detroit.

We were indeed. Moved out to LA four years ago. Rooting for our Spurs from the heart of the lion's den. It's really a beautiful city the day after a Lakers loss.
That's why we need Dice...for my sanity! I can't listen to any more BS from Laker fans who never heard of Cedric Ceballos.
It may be a few days, but it could also be tommorrow morning. Time will tell. Patience.
LOL. Never realized there were so many Spur fans in New Jersey. Which school (township) and what year?
It's funny how in the comments below Jeff McDonald's blog so many posts say "get dice!" and then immediately follow that with "re-sign Gooden"!

These people obviously don't understand how a roster is put together, I guess.
Remember his "rap" video? LOL. LA is likely my next destination when I save up enough money. Be interested to see what could be available in a trade as well and what the FO thinks of Powe even.
I would love to move back to Houston, I lived in the West University area around the galleria.
Perhaps down by UH, but that's about it.
He wasn't talking politics..he just said Obama would fix it..you're the one starting the politics talk by bashing our former president...maybe you should find the other forum.![]()
So, is this right, best case scenario, Pistons could offer $ 4 million (and that is contingent upon trading away Afflalo and Sharpe for virtually nothing - no guarantee that they could even do this) and we are offering him 3 years - 2 fully guaranteed, 1 partial guarantee at about 5.8 million ?
Yeah, if McDyess can't make a decision within 24 to 48 hours with those two competing offers, he is unlikely to move here ever.
However, if McDyess makes this decision rationally, then we are in an okay position.
I thank Pistons<Spurs for noting the correction in the original post by the writer.
Is Joisey the most depressing place on earth? I passed through it a few years ago and was depressed for days. *kidding*
It did look very flat and industrial though...
So long ago that my alma mater, Cedar Ridge H.S. near Old Bridge, no longer exists. So long ago that I can remember games between the Knicks and Celtics in which Phil Jackson and Don Nelson were players.
Class of '77
There are actually some really nice houses tucked away in that area, one of my professors lives down there. I wouldn't mind buying a place here in the Heights, wish I had some disposable income right now for a down payment...
The North is... beaches are nice where I live...
McDyess isn't restricted and it'd be impossible for the Pistons to pay luxury tax this season.
wrong- he said you (sic) guy Obama will fix it (ie with sarcasm).
My post was appropriate because he, out of the blue, injected sarcasm against the current President of the United States.
And Monmouth Park is a great place to pass an afternoon.
That's been my experience. Otherwise, it's like any other major city...
It actually has the lowest suicide rate in USA. Well at least it did a year ago, and probably has mantained bottom 5 status on that list. Take it for what you will, but I found that pretty interesting.
Please Dice, don't make this a long week. It really doesn't have to be.
I drive by every day. Wife works at Monmouth Medical Center in Longbranch.
It's the Garden State!
That sounds about right. My quick math has the Pistons able to clear out a little more than $4 million.
Even though the money looks good for McDyess (not to mention the championship aspirations), I'd say it's still 50/50. The Pistons believed in him when it looked like he was done as a player ... and he hasn't forgotten that.
The best hope is that Dumars isn't willing to clear room for him and will instead want to spend that money elsewhere.
I take it that's to the south.
I was on my way from NYC to Atlantic City, so I admit that I didn't see much of the state. Had a good time in AC though - stopped coughing up blood from the bronchitis I caught in SA (damned Cedar Fever!), checked out the Taj and the Borgata, and won $1500 in two hands from a guy who just didn't believe I had the cards. Goods times!![]()
