picked up the funnies at someone's house this morning, and the Baldo comic was basically a political ad glorifying Obama and Sotomayer....
I tossed down the "funnies" in disgust.
Yeah, how dare the spanish speaking comic strip that traditionally focuses on Hispanic issues comment on the nation's first Hispanic supreme court nominee.
I got news for you, if you don't wanna live in world that acknowledges ethnicity you don't have to read baldo of all comics... or throw your paper down in disgust. You can just move on to Charlie Brown.
When they ask you to press 2 for espanol, do you throw your phone in disgust too? Probably.

and let's just get rid of the humor in the comics, and make them all give glory to obama and everything he does.
Unfortunately there aren't tens of millions of Punjabi speaking people living in this country for the sole purpose of making your fast food and mowing your lawn.
Oh and BTW, the offending strip (which appears to be about positive role models for children):

The free market has determined that Spanish is a viable language in this country. Businesses are responding.

Sure Sotamayor is not someone who I want on the Supreme Court, but she has worked hard, even if IMO she has made some stupid rulings... I would much rather young women look up to Sotamayor than to some pop star or whoever it is kids think are cool these days.

The point is, Sunday comics are a creative endeavor that can look like whatever the they want. You gonna complain that Prince Valiant espouses the positive values of a monarchical government while you are at it?
Are you against Freedom of Speech then? Are you for the Fairness Act?
How dare the comics! Mallard and Doonsbury too! There has to be something more important to worry about here.
I quit reading the sunday comics a long time ago.
I used to like Bloom County.
