He looked best running the point. Too bad Newman had him at point for like three minutes. Taylor over McClinton at point guard is mind-boggling.

Taylor straight up fell down while dribbling at least thrice.
Jack only played 10 minutes... I don't know... Maybe Newman doesn't have much faith in him?

Is AJ Abrams playing in summer league?
He is, but I forget where. I want to say New Jersey for some reason.

This is the best I've ever seen Ian play in terms of hustle, energy, knowing where to be and attention to detail. There's still rust offensively but he's been fabulous at doing the small things this game.
    Like taking charges!!!

    For a 6-11 big?!?!?!

    Ian looked GREAT TONIGHT!!!

We lucked out not only because we were able to get Blair at 37, but also because we didn't select McClinton there. Not that he still doesn't have a chance to prove himself, but so far he hasn't done too much to impress. I can imagine Spurstalk going up in flames with McClinton's performance had he been our 37th pick.

    yes there was
how did he handle the full court press
    better then beno?
He was a mixed bag. At first he tried to dribble through it. Eventually he tried to pass over it. After a while, the passing worked and led to layups.

It's kind of an unwritten rule not to throw fullcourt traps in freakin summer league so that true evaluations can be made. But I guess the Nuggets really wanted the win.

Mahinmi made a massive jump from the first game to this game. Now if he can shake the rust off offensively and be a little less clumsy, the Spurs might have something here
THe key will be seeing him in the preseason against bigs with NBA bodies. He struggles even against summer league size -- can he be effective against the big guys? Somebody definitely lit a fire under him, though.

I actually didn't like how he handled it at all. But truth be told, the way to break full court traps like that has to do with spacing and help from your teammates. I didn't think they got much help or spacing worked out.

On a lighter note: These guys seem to have gotten the memo on FT shooting. After shooting 91% they are now 11-17

Taylor and Beck definitely need to have their dribbling privledges revoked.

I think Ian will be fine...its not like we need him to go out there and dominate in the reg season, if he can spell TD and Dice without having a huge dropoff in rebounding and defense then he'll be a welcome addition

I agree. I can't stop thinking about how lucky the Spurs got. If Blair had been picked one spot earlier the Spurs would have gotten McClinton and left Sam Young on the frickin' board.

True. But Beck to his credit has a very nice jumper.

I agree. Hill made a couple of bad decisions, but his teammates sure weren't anywhere to be found.

the refs have somthing against Ian
Yep: Ian MAY have only had 5 or 6 fouls if the refs weren't calling the wind blowing as a flagrant.
