I have a hunch that ATL will take a point guard, assuming Milwaukee takes Bogut. They already have the two Joshes and Boris Diaw to boot. Throw in Al Harrington at PF and a large wad of cash (some of which can be directed at Dalembert), then I see taking a PG as a very logical choice.

Give that starting five - Chris Paul (or Deron), Josh Smith, Josh Childress, Al Harrington and Samuel Dalembert - a couple of years to develop, and build a bench around perhaps Diaw and Atlanta might find a way to actually put fans in the seats while challenging in the East.

Anyone else want to call a surprise in tonight's draft.

This doesn't qualify as a draft surprise as in the draft results at the top going against the media consensus, but I suspect that we will see a lot of teams trying to trade into this draft, trade for another first rounder, or trade up from the 2nd round. Given that next year's draft is going to have an age limit, that this draft is regarded as being somewhat deep and that the new CBA grants teams an option after the 2nd year of a 1st round guaranteed rookie contract I expect to see a lot more trading activity than in year's past. Teams with a first round pick, such as the Spurs, stand to benefit.

I don't have any specific predictions but I would think there could be some crazy stuff going on after the first 5 or 6 picks leading to a chain reaction that can throw mock draft boards into an upheaval.

If they draft Lorbek, it would probably be after trading for a 2nd round pick.

No doubt, he's one I'd love to see the Spurs select.

There you go. Martell Webster surprisingly goes to Portland at 6. Now, Toronto selects Charlie Villanueva at 7. A little crazy and shocking right here with these two picks!

Maybe Granger will last to the end of the 1st round.

The Bigs are starting to float to the top. Not a surprise. Bynum at 10 to the Lakers is a surprise.

I guess all the Green talk was B.S.... I would think L.A. needed someone who could contribute now.

If the Spurs had real interest in Granger now would be the time to move up in trade. He's still on the board at 13.

I know Toronto worked him out and really liked him so I think he might go at 16 if he's still around by then.

Who wants to trade with the NBA Champions and one of the better talent evaluators? Probably nobody.
