With the game starting in a few hours, I went looking for any game previews in English or Dutch (I have to use Google Translate for articles in French) and came up with a few tidbits from a Belgian news website.

-the game in Antwerp is a sellout. A large screen will be set up in the Central Market of Brussels for supporters to watch the game

-the Belgian coach holds the FNT in high regard saying: If France plays as a team they are, perhaps, the best team in Europe.

-much attention to Parker including a telephone interview with Tony's dad. I had always been curious as to how someone born in Belgium as the son of an American father and Dutch mother came to be a French citizen. His dad explains that he was playing for a Belgian team when Tony was born. That team went bankrupt and the family moved to France. His dad joked that Tony could be playing for Belgium tonight if the club in Brugge had stayed in business.

Not much on the Eurobasket site. This is the game matchup page with stats and history.

    More notes:

    - The Belgian coach thinks France's mixed results in the near past is due to their 'star mentality'.

    - Interesting matchup between Bosco and Parker. Bosco, known as a pest in defense got Parker once frustrated. Parker called him a 'fils de pute' who had nothing to do on a bball floor.

    - Belgium is counting on Hervelle and the defensive presence of Mbenga.

    - Sam Van Rossum will return from injury.

TP is ballin' right now. The rest of the FNT needs to pick up their level. Too lazy on the passes.

Also, I did not know Mbenga was Belgian...

    He's in now.

Tony went to the bench with 15 seconds left in the first qtr. He had 16 pts and France was up by 10. He sat for 3 minutes and Belgium scored 11 straight. I've seen this show somewhere.

Did you see Ian's play at the rim right before the dunk?

Its funny watching some guys play for their country. Like how others rip Bargnani and some other guys for sucking (even though they did). If you were watching this game and judging, Diaw would look like the worst player to ever make it in the NBA. He is playing so bad.

    And Mbenga is owning people
