Domen Lorbek really stepped up. Something I wanted to say before but got distracted due to obvious reasons.![]()
Let the refs alone. They made mistakes, but they were making them both ways. We had 6 point lead minute to go and we allowed them to equalize in two possessions. Unacceptable!
But when you are tired, head doesn't work as it should.

Well I am a Christian.
But I don't see a cross so I am not sure what you mean.
My computer is acting up. I think I need to replace the battery cord. My battery is at critical so if I suddenly disappear, it is probably that.

But I wasn't, I blamed Zdovc for Lakovics poor play.
Wait! Wrong! I don't blame anybody about anything.
I'm proud of our team this year, even if they lose tomorrow.
My rantings are just blowing off some steam.
coz she's in your friends list
Eh, I know.

Ahhhhh! Thanks.
I'm not saying the refs did us in today, Pero was most likely just watching the game on RTVSLO, where Slovenian players can do no wrong ( well thats untill they are down by +10, then they just flat out suck), and every call against us is a travesty of epic proportions. I swiched channels for a second after Slokar's pummeling of that Serbian guy, and our objective commentator was complaining about that call.
Does not get any more homeristic then that.
What is dumb however is calling an intentional/ or unsporting foul 30 seconds before the end of a tied game. What was the point of that? You completely piss off fans of one team, and you deprive fans of the other team for a just win (not saying that took place today, but imagine if Serbia hit both of their free throws, and then made a 3 from that technical.....the atmosphere here would be completely different then it is now)
Anyway, for me, even if lose tonight, our guys did great and I'm proud.
Other than in game comments I didn't say much about refs, other than that there were bad calls on both sides.
The reason I complained (don't remember what the commentator was complaining about) was that it was called as an unsportsmanlike or an intentional foul.I swiched channels for a second after Slokar's pummeling of that Serbian guy, and our objective commentator was complaining about that call.
Does not get any more homeristic then that.
I did watch the game on TV SLO2 though and yes the commentator was homeristic.![]()
Yeh, he really did it in a big way. Kudos to Domen for playing outta his mind today. He was great tnight.
So who are you guys going to root for in the finals? I don't like Spain, so Serbia it is.
They must feel so emotionally drained right now, im kinda feeling like that myself. And yeh, we did good, about time as well!!!! And that game for 3rd place and that medal's cabbage, who really gives a about that.
It's gonna be a blowout, so we ll have nothing to root for after 15mins, but for that quarter of n hour, Serbia of course.
Me too.
Hey I do.And yeh, we did good, about time as well!!!! And that game for 3rd place and that medal's cabbage, who really gives a about that.
I'd be great if we'd beat Greece and take 3rd place.
http://www.eurobasket2009.org/en/coi...leMode_on.htmlTurning Point: Leading 79-76, Slovenia did not foul Serbia to prevent a three-pointer and the decision backfired as Milos Teodosic buried a shot from behind the arc to tie the game at 79-79. Laka Lakovic then missed a lay-up that would have won the game in regulation, Serbia won in overtime.
I don't get this tradition of Euroball where its a great idea to foul when 3pts in the lead myself. Have seen this practise backfire so many, so many times, so many times, and at the end of such games you allways get this feeling that you ed up, and not that the other team beat you.
Let somebody be a proper HERO, like Teo today, by draining that clutch 3 and not some tool an imaginary one for not making a free throw while the other tool makes them. Aint nothing heroic about making these free throws, takes away from the game and the players, and puts the coach on the spotlight needlessly.
And now you don't have that feeling?
Well I'm sure he's a hero for the Serbs.Let somebody be a proper HERO, like Teo today, by draining that clutch 3 and not some tool an imaginary one for not making a free throw while the other tool makes them.
I don't agree. And I think that had we won by that tactic (and that's what it is) you wouldn't be saying this.Aint nothing heroic about making these free throws, takes away from the game and the players, and puts the coach on the spotlight needlessly.![]()
I do have that feeling yeah, but its not related to the strategy of not fouling. I don't see the game beeing lost on that play.
AwwWe have the Lorbek brothers today, and of course our best player Nachbar, who shot a lot of free throws tonight, which by some sources is the new equivalent of dunking.
Of course everyone is en led to their opinions, more then that, its probably statistically proven fact that your correct and we should have fouled. As a fan im just saying it aint a whole lot of fun to watch, on top of potentially looking like a huge donkey.
Ye id take the win if we won by that tactic, of course i wouldnt complain. But that doesn't mean i like the tactic, only means im a homer.
Just saw the game. Damn, that was a tough way to lose![]()
Sooooo close...
Going to be hard to get up for the third place game.
So, Greece only beat us one time and we beat them three times. So much for them always owning us as KBP was claiming somewhere.
When half the team is injured and you don't have proper subs utions and you get into foul trouble....there was no way we could have won. It was a miracle we kept it that close.
I'm still proud of what the've achieved in this tournament. Without Rasho, Smodis, Beno, Becirovic and Dragic.![]()
We can only be proud of our guys.... gold medal or fourth place! Doesn't really matter...
I still can't understand how Lakovič is still alive after so many games in a row playing 40 min.
You guys (who critizise him) do realise that opposing coaches pressed him even harder because they knew he is fatigued?
He could have had 30 turnovers yesterday and I still couldn't blame him...
We have a GREAT GREAT team that is able to go really far in Turkey next year if we have all the best players and have a little more luck with injuries.
Not to mention we can still get a medal...
Be proud and stop whining like little es!![]()
I saw the game yesterday and I wonder how you guys think about the situation where Brezec got the flagrant foul about 2 min to go in the 4th. What I mean is that I don't see the difference in stopping a fast break and fouling intentionally in the last minute. I always thought that it is absolute nonsense to call those situations differently. It also was not a "clear path foul", there were 2 players closer to the basket.
