Yup, IMO there is nothing wrong in being excited when someone plays with heart, intensity, aggressiveness, etc.
The best thing about all this is Blair won't even listen to all this hype. He is just gonna keep focusing on doing what he needs to do. And that's the way it should be. Smart guy.

In the post game interview you could tell Blair wanted to say more at the end, but then remembered that the court is where he makes statements. Just amazing to get a young talent like this guy.
Kind of like getting a lottery-type talent for a 2nd round pick.
Damn he really is a beast. Blair rocks!! So glad we got him
Yes, I realize a lot of STers on Bonner including myself. Most of us do appreciate the 3 pt shooting, but he lacks in other qualities, he's not a game changer on the defensive side. There is no fear in going up against him. IMO putting him in the starting line up, jacking up 3's (whether he makes them or not) is not good for team rhythm on both offense and D. Good ole Spurs basketball that has brought home the LOB trophy was centered around D and rebounding, and thankfully it looks like we are headed back in that direction..
Well there are going to be a number of games where Bonner is gonna play ahead of Blair, and sometimes that's going to be the right move..Matt can stretch out the D very effectively, while Blair is one of the better rebounders in the NBA..they will both get their turns, depending on the matchups..they're both defensive liabilities though, so I would like to see them playing next to Duncan or Ratliff at all times..
Blair >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bonner
the bright side will be that Blair will be there to get the rebound when Bonner misses the 3
If Blair had Bonner's level of defense and mobility, he would be a lock to play those minutes.
Based on what people saw last night, Blair + Bonner together on the floor = conga line to the hoop.
No knock against Blair's defense, but he doesn't look like he can really protect the rim.
hopefully he'll get better
i think blair is just as mobile and probably more mobile than Bonner.
I'm starting to be one of those to think that we should start Blair as others have said. I realy dont think having Bonner and Blair both on the court at the same time is such a good idea. lol
Becuase of Blair's size he needs a good weakside defender big to come in and block the shot. Bonner would just run the other way.
Blair has already surpassed Odens career totals in one game. Don't hate, congratulate.![]()
Not as excited as Blazers fans get over a Preseason win (played with starters) over the worst team in the NBA.
If he brings those three every night, it's over.
he's the most exciting Spur since a guy called Manu Ginobili
even more than Richard Jefferson?
well, yeah, you may be right.
Blair is something else. Watching him last night reminded me of how Rodman used to go after rebounds. But, Blair looks similar to Sir Charles in his early years before he got so fat. Wide body with a of a wingspan. His biggest problem will be finding situations Pop can play him. Most guys at his position are 6'10" and taller. But, his determination and hustle will do him well in Pop's eyes. Pop & crew will figure it all out.
Yeah. RJ brings aggression but in more of a finesse.
Please no gay jokes, please no gay jokes.
if he can provide that type of effort on a nightly basis, i'm not so sure he can't take Manu's role of sixth man on this team.
*crickets*
Supposedly his long arms give him the reach of someone who's 6'10", so I don't see his lack of height being much of an issue at all.
His height will only be an issue at the defensive end in terms of shotblocking....... but we knew coming in that he'd be a mess in that regard anyway. 11 of his boards were defensive. A good sign. He will improve. He's got a fire like no one i've ever seen.
