Maybe the judges look favourably at denying take downs and technical ability. Rua got more shots off, but maybe they thought Lyoto didnt get hurt aswell... This ones tough to explain.

Bad decision and I have been a die hard Lyoto fan for years.
1. I think Lyoto broke/cracked a rib early
2. Lyoto only won 2 rounds

I believe in Machida's compe ive spirit and I think the the inexplicable decision is enough to have all sides agree to a re-match. I wonder what Dana thinks...I kept hoping that Shogun would finish him in the 4th, but it's so hard to rush Lyoto when you think you can safely pull a decision and shock the world to get that belt.

What i ment to say was, landing head shots are more noticable than kicks. Ie seeing a fighters head snap back or drawing blood, as opposed to kicks where the fighter being kicked barely flinches...
