Looks like the 4th quarter was crazy - NJ only scored 10 points.

TLong, you can hear the Portland games (delayed) on the radio.

Blazers: 750 KXL to cover Reebok Vegas Summer League

    July 6, 2005

Portland Trail Blazers fans will be able to catch all six of the team's games at the 2005 Reebok Vegas Summer League being held July 6-15 at the Cox Pavillion in Las Vegas, Nevada on the team's flagship station, Newsradio 750 KXL.

The broadcasts will air game nights at 10 p.m. on a delay basis, with Brian Wheeler and Mike Rice calling all the action.

Fans will get their first opportunity to listen in to the play of the teams' top pick, Martell Webster as he joins Sebastian Telfair, Travis Outlaw, Ha Seung-jin and other rising stars on the Blazers' roster.
FYI - Martell is the real deal. This kid can shoot lights out! Jarret Jack sprained his ankle and will miss a few games as will Sergei Monya who is having visa problems. When we have all of these guys we will destroy the rest of the summer league.

In the first game today, Antoine Wright and Devin Harris sucked. In the second game, Travis Outlaw had 32 points on 17 shots. Martell Webster had a good game too. For the Knicks, Nate "Shoulda Been A Spur" Robinson had a good game.

Jamal Sampson had a very productive 13 minutes in his game:

    5pts, 5reb, 3blk

I'll be pissed if he gets a guaranteed deal before the RMR.

I was really suprised to see Tyus Edney is still on a roster. It's been years since I heard that name.

Congratulations. Maybe under McMillan, Telfair and Outlaw will be able to get more than 19 and 13 min./game respectively.

Sometimes, you've got to carpe diem with positive news...no matter how minor the stage.

We've got the youngest team in the league now. We'll take our lumps, but we'll be damn good in a couple of years.

Telfair leads athletic Blazers over Warriors

    By: Dennis Rogers
    [email protected]

The youth movement for the Portland Trail Blazers is looking very bright, as they cruised past the Golden State Warriors, 90-74. The young and athletic Blazers displayed quickness, smarts, hustle and looked as if they have been playing together for years.

Sebastian Telfair looked like a veteran point guard as he led the charge for the Blazers, scoring 23 points (6-12 FG) and dishing out 10 assists. Telfair had 16 points (4-8 FG, 8-8 FT) at halftime.

Telfair nearly missed a triple-double in the Blazers first summer league game, finishing with 18 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Travis Outlaw pitched in 18 points (7-19 FG), 12 rebounds and three blocks for the Blazers, while rookie Martell Webster had 15 points (5-10 FG). The Blazers finished the game shooting 51 percent (33-65 FG). They also outscored the Warriors 46-28 in the paint and 22-11 in points off turnovers.

The Blazers used a 34-17 third quarter to take the lead, as they shot 67 percent (14-21 FG) in the quarter.

Ike Diogu led the Warriors attack with 16 points (5-10 FG) and eight rebounds. Monta Ellis had 15 points and six rebounds, but hit only four or his 16 shots. Golden State finished the game shooting 47 percent (25-66 FG).

Golden State took a four point lead into halftime, 43-39. The Warriors shot 47 percent for the half, while Portland shot 44 percent (12-27 FG). The Warriors had a 16-10 advantage in the paint and out-rebounded the Blazers by four (43-39) at the break.

The Warriors take on the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow night at 8 p.m., while the Blazers battle the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday at 5 p.m.
