blair blows
he was just shooting some shots and got lucky
I'm starting to see how this guy corrals so many offensive rebounds. Every time a shot goes up and even before, this guy is working his ass off for position, and easily wins that battle the majority of the time with his strength and quickness.
His brute strength, huge hands/wingspan and excellent timing make it easy for him to get to many rebounds first.
blair blows
he was just shooting some shots and got lucky
exactly. he knows that getting position is a huge part of rebounding. and with his thickness, strength and low center of gravity, he just bulls in to the position he wants.
Blair averaging 8.3 pts/boards in 20 mpg, anyone see those numbers go up by the end of the year? I think they all will, but his points/boards will only go up by .2-.5, his minutes could go up by 3-5 minutes.
Even if his minutes go up slightly, but his pts/boards go down a bit, I will be more than pleased.
I thought it was pretty funny...
Did you made that pic in your sig of blair with the American flag? I just saw his twitter profile, he put that pic up.
Did you scroll down?
Yeah, for a couple days you had one pic up where she was half in the pool, but now you have the gallery back.![]()
There's no reason he shouldn't be getting minutes over Bonner or 'Dice at this point..
McDyess takes a long time to get in rhythm, nothing new..Bonner isn't doing it..
Blair's defense isn't any worse than the 2 of them..at least he brings energy and toughness to this team, we desperately need it..
Agreed, he played pretty well today although he got some garbage rebounds and points.
DeJuan is the only guy that played with heart the whole game tonight. He played hard all game.
Fantasy Basketball Breaking News
DeJuan Blair: Blair posts near double-double in loss to UTA
DeJuan Blair nearly double-doubled in 21 minutes off the bench on Thursday, scoring 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting with nine rebounds and one block.
Blair has quieted down a bit with his scoring after a double-double of 14 and 11 in the season opener, but has hit double-digit rebounds in three of the Spurs' four games, all in just 20 minutes per game. If and when Tim Duncan misses time, Blair will be capable of some solid fantasy lines.
So did Blair play solid D last night? I was too frustrated with how the Spurs were playing to watch the game.
Fantasy Thoughts - November 5th
Low Minutes, High Production – DeJuan Blair posted 14 points and 9 rebounds last night in 21 minutes of action for the San Antonio Spurs. For the season, Blair is averaging 9.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in about 21 minutes per game. That is solid output considering the amount of minutes he is playing. If his numbers were projected over a full 48 minute game, he would average 22.6 points and 19.6 rebounds. I normally find the per-48 minute stats to be useless, but I used it simply to show that Blair is making the most of the minutes that he is currently playing. With the depth that the Spurs have, I would not consider him a wise fantasy decision at this point, but if the Spurs suffer injuries in their frontcourt or his minutes begin to increase, Blair may be a player to keep in mind.

DeJuan in pads?
By Buck Harvey
Glen Davis told reporters, "I will try" the NFL, and he has the body to try.
Big Baby, at 290 pounds, with quick enough feet to play away from the basket for the Celtics, is a prototype defensive end.
DeJuan Blair is, too. So would this devoted Steelers fan ever want to do the same?
When asked, Blair shook his head. He didn't play high school football and, when asked why, he pointed to his knees.
"I like these too much," he said.
Davis played high school football in Baton Rouge, La., with an odd combination of positions. On defense he was on the line, and on offense he was a running back.
A big running back.
"I definitely could have made it to the NFL," Davis told reporters this week. And he probably could have.
But Davis took that further. "When I become an All-Star in the NBA, when I become a great player in the NBA," Davis said, "then I'll try football. One of my dreams has always been to play football."
That's likely the entertainer in Big Baby talking. There are a few steps before he becomes "an All-Star in the NBA." Establishing himself as a starter on his own team is one.
But should he become "a great player," then gambling on football would make every NFL scout question his sanity. He would give up a long-term guaranteed contract? To subject himself to NFL violence?
His agent, also, would have some advice for him.
Blair isn't tempted. He wanted to play football when he was a little kid, as so many do who grow up in Pittsburgh. But he says he was too big for the pee-wee weight requirements. He began to have his knee problems his freshman and sop re years in high school, and, by the time he was healthy he was committed to basketball.
But he still loves the Steelers, right?
"Of course," he said.
