I'm getting body aches and chills and am ready to jump into bed at 5:30 and crash out.
Work is getting out of hand. I was supposed to be off at 4:30. I have been here since 9:30. It is now 5 and my relief is still not here.
My manager did not call my co-worker to find out where she was and why she was not here.
I called myself. (Way to manage your staff, manager. )
My co-worker was shocked she worked today- apparently schools don't teach kids how to read a schedule these days.
When I called my manager, who is on property, the situation my manager volunteered me to stay until my co-worker can come relieve me.
And it is not just that.
I still have yet to be rewarded a sales award that I earned in August. I let it go for a month as to not be pushy. I have since reminded my boss about it on three separate occasions. She always promises me results but produces none.
A more recent and cutting slight: I was not even given the chance to interview for a promotion because the opening was filled before any of us were made aware of the position having been created. There are two of us in my department ( myself and another girl) who dererved consideration but we were both overlooked.
This same girl and I were also not given raises, in spite of our excellent reviews. Corporate's call.
I understand the economy situation. But I feel like our local bosses should do what they can to at the very least verbally recognize our good work all the more so, since we are being denied raises everyone agrees we earned.
I know I do good work because my boss described me to our new office manager as
" the one who never messes up."
Whenever anyone has a question about how things need to be done in our department or an important project, they come to me.
All our major corporate customers request me.
This year is the first time I ever requested more than a day in row off, and it was for my wedding.
I know it is tough economic times and I am happy to have a job. But I am tired of being taken advantage of and not being appreciated.
Ugh!

Despite being late to work, last night, much like this past weekend, was amazing.
