The more I started coming here the less I wanted to post at CL. A lot of those people make me sick now.
One needs a backbone and truth be told, insensitivity runs rampant. The deal is, if you back your team, you back the out of your team. Houston seems to be a pretty good team but without the 2 biggest weapons under contract at their disposal, they aren't viewed upon as contenders.
They played a of a game against the Lakers and I hope they can find a way to battle that hard all the time and win some along the way. But with that being said, your best way to battle isn't to wave the white flag...it's to draw a line in the fricken' sand and bring it harder than hard.
Laker fans can be pussies and they can be pretty cool, there I said it. In a real bar setting, it's just a game and I'd drink with any fan who shows a modi of respect after the game. It is what it is.
So choose and be prepared whatever comes your way.
You need a thick skin for this place, but it's real, and full of great people. Also, the NBA forum is far rougher than the Spurs forum in general.
And as for moderation, that. The moderation here is perfect, and pinking is a great tool to use on people when they really step out of line. This place is run as message boards should be.

I don't really come here to talk about basketball - obviously the degree of civility here doesn't allow interesting conversations (plus the fact that 99% of the posters are completely clueless about the game). There are way better boards for that craft. This one is mostly for amusement purposes. Obviously it gets old after a while, so I stop reading it for awhile.
