There are a ton of analysts and NBA players including DWade and LeBron himself who have acknowledged that Kobe's the best player in the game for the last 5 years or so..

There's a whole page of quotes from an earlier thread, it's around ST somewhere.

yea so i guess pippen was a better player than say hakeem in the 90s right? i mean pippen had what 6 rings to dreams 2? nevermind that pippen was second fiddle to MJ, just like Kobe was second fiddle to Shaq from 2000-2004...yea lets just ignore the fact the Pip had the GOAT and Kobe had the MDE.
Pippen wasn't All-NBA 1st team nearly every year like Kobe. You analogy is pretty off.

When it come to All-NBA/All-D 1st teams, it's basically Kobe & TD on one tier above everyone else for the decade. The tiebreaker is how Kobe has outperformed Duncan in the playoffs. Let's be real, you act like Kobe didn't go into SA and dunk allover the Twin Towers and destroy you guys in 01'. You act like Kobe didn't drop 3 10+ 4th quarters in 02' to beat the Spurs. You act like he didn't fly in from Colorado to drop 40+ on SA and lead LA over them in 04'. You act like he wasn't "doin work" on SA in 08' to prevent TD once again from repeating.

Who cares? They're just being nice and Kobe would be unable to say such a thing. Deep down, you know that LBD is much better than Kobe right now and with supporting casts changed, Kobe would probably be left out of the playoffs and LBJ would cruise for the le.

There's 450 players in the NBA that they could be nice to but Dwade and Lebron both picked Kobe.

In 2008 I think it was a draw. In 2009 (prior to the ECF meltdown) I thought it was LeBron.

But right now, Kobe is the best player.

Kobe, without his 2 best players in Pau and Bynum, is leading the NBA in steals and scoring yet his team is still 5-1. There's only 1 team with a better record than the injured Lakers and that's a fully healthy Celtics team.

They know it's important for Kobe and they were teammates in team USA.

They're winning a lot of close games and having an easy schedule. Their Pythagorean record is not that good and that's the best metric for future success. Believe me, it will even out.

ps - unlike the conventional wisdom states, good teams don't win a lot more of close games than bad teams. Close games are mostly decided by luck and that's why most NBA teams, from the best to the worst, historically have similar records in close games. What differentiates good teams is their ability to have blow-out games.

This was always what she was after in the first place.

    1. I mean c'mon "mix-ups"?
    2. A fellow worker saying she looked perfectly fine after leaving Kobe's room?
    3. Having man juice from 4 different guys in her from the last 3 days?
    4. Going up to Kobe's room at night for an autograph? And then later changing her story?
    5. And then all of a sudden declining to testify when the contradicting evidence came up?
    1. That certainly isn't uncommon in that type of situation and so I'm not sure what exactly that is supposed to prove.
    2. And another worker said she was crying.
    3. That she was sexually active before the rape is irrelevant. And her actions after would once again fall into the category of not being all that uncommon. Women can react very different than your preconceived notion of how they "should" act.
    4. I can't be bothered to re look it up, but I don't even recall that ever happening.
    5. Yes, what a shocker that after Kobe's professional slander team was done with her she choose to decline to testify for a DA that couldn't/didn't protect her.

And just to remind you your boy not only lied to the police, but he also practically admitted guilt as part of his settlement in the civil case. I can't say I have seen to many payoffs to the accuser that included that little extra.

Let me know when it does. As of right now, only the Celtics have a better record than the Lakers without its 2nd and 3rd best player.
    You'll notice it by yourself.

Now that is funny. Two examples would be the Celtics and the Cavs. Both were pounding teams. Look where it got them while the "squeaking by" Lakers "rang sans daddy".

Man, with all due respect, and I meant no offence, you're unbelievably dense or such a homer you just aren't able to discuss basketball. The C's were pounding teams last season? No, they weren't. They're getting lots of close wins, especially early in the season. That's why their 27-2 record wasn't sustainable.

Look, this isn't some wild guess. It's historical data. You put together the teams that won +60 games in the entire history of the league and they won less than 60% of their close games. Teams with less than 25 wins, won more than 40% of their close games. In not-so-good and not-so-bad teams, the difference is even smaller. More, the best prediction of playoffs success is point differential, not the W/L record - exactly because close games are mostly a matter of luck.

Of course, it isn't a perfect predictor - in that case, they wouldn't have to play the playoffs.

And LOL at you constantly forgetting to mention Garnett's injury. That was, by far, the biggest single contribution for the Lakers' le.

Please, read, for example, Dean Oliver's Basketball on Paper - it's a great book to give yourself a little education about basketball.

Kobe is already the undisputed player of the 2000's decade(4 rings, 6 Finals, 4-1 gainst TD in the playoffs, etc.).

So the question must be asked, can he repeat this feat for the 10's?? LA is posed to win 3-6 les with the current team, and Kobe is even better than before. The Prince may have something to say about this, but turthfully, he's not on Kobe's level yet.

Can Kobe become the only player in history to dominate TWO decades?

    Discuss
I think you're about to become the only troll to get dominated in BOTH holes.

    5. Yes, what a shocker that after Kobe's professional slander team was done with her she choose to decline to testify for a DA that couldn't/didn't protect her.
Because it became known that she was looney. As soon as it became known that she was crazy, she dropped out.

"There days after the alleged rape Katelyn bragged about the incident to friends at a party. According to reports,

Katelyn was taking an anti-psychotic drug for the treatment of schizophrenia at the time of the incident.

n fact, she was hospitalized as a "danger to herself" four months before the alleged sexual assault. Lindsey McKinney, who lived with the accuser, said the woman twice tried to kill herself at school by overdosing on sleeping pills."

With all due respect and I mean no offense but you're blind or too much of a homer you're imagining up excuses for them. In the 19 game winning streak the Lakers broke on Christmas Day; the Celtics were beating down their opponent by 14 friggin' points...to any non-homer fan, that's a beatdown.

This nonsense "big margin of victory" theory of yours left the Celtics so demoralized they lost 7 of 9 games after their streak was broken by the Kobester.

Yes, there are exceptions. Like the "squeaking by" Lakers.

Of course, it isn't a perfect predictor - in that case, they wouldn't have to play the playoffs.
Yes, now you're learning. Since the Lakers broke your "theory" last year, why bring it up against them this year?

And LOL at you constantly forgetting to mention Garnett's injury. That was, by far, the biggest single contribution for the Lakers' le.
Lol'able would be the Lakers breaking 2 of the Celtics streaks WITH KG.

Please, read, for example, Dean Oliver's Basketball on Paper - it's a great book to give yourself a little education about basketball.
    You obviously haven't read it.
