O’Neal out of Cavaliers’ lineup Saturday

Shaquille O’Neal was scratched from the Cleveland Cavaliers’ lineup Saturday night against Utah because of a strained shoulder.

O’Neal started Cleveland’s first nine games, averaging 11.3 points and 6.8 rebounds. Zydrunas Ilgauskas was expected to start at center in place of O’Neal.

The announcement was made after coach Mike Brown’s pregame availability.

Cleveland also will be without guard Delonte West, who was inactive for the third straight game. West has been in and out of the lineup this season while dealing with personal issues.

He doesn't have the Suns trainers to work their voodoo magic on him anymore. This is one of many injuries he'll have this season.

How much do you want to bet that the Cavs play better without him?

Shaquille O’Neal: (Shoulder) Doubtful for Tuesday

O’Neal (shoulder) did not practice Monday and is considered doubtful for Tuesday’s game against Golden State.

The Cavaliers have taken a tight-lipped approach when discussing the injury. “We’re not defining it anymore than just a shoulder strain,” team spokesman Tad Carper said, but would not indicate which shoulder is bothering O’Neal. If O’Neal can’t play Tuesday, Zydrunas Ilgauskas—who started in Shaq’s place on Sunday—would replace him in the lineup. Owners in weekly leagues may want to consider benching Shaq this week since there’s no telling how many games he might miss.

they didn't. Almost lost to the Jazz with 9 guys

They are resting Shaq and his shoulder, but I would think if they played a good team he would play as he was in the final possession during the Heat game, so it couldn't have hurt that bad. Probably just resting him while they play ty teams at home Lebron could beat by himself

Overweight and out of shape. Man, if Shaq wouldn't have become so lazy in the offseason while with the Lakers, then he'd be so much more effective on the court today. His regimen just went POOF when he begain to win les with Kobe.
