Game rules, one of the best FPS ever made. If it wasn't for the myriad community betrayals, it'd definitely be 100x more deserving of a perfect 10 than CoD 4.
Well, I'm half-way through the single player and I have to say meh. Story is half-assed, and the splotchy blood thing when you're shot-up sucks enormously. Definitely fun, but undeserving of all the hype. I will say the terrorist mission is freakin awesome!! Slaughtering innocents in an airport terminal as they crawl away is simply glorious. Even better to shoot up the cops as you make your escape. All the vehicle stuff gets ing old though. I wanna play an FPS, not a damn vehicle game. However, I did like destroying armored vehicles and Russian troops with the Predator drone.

All in all, glad I didn't pay for it. I'll complete the SP and maybe do some special ops, but then get rid of it off my drive. TO say this is the best FPS of all time is ridiculous, Crysis is WAY better (at least concerning SP) I'll be perfectly happy to continue playing WaW for multiplayer.

+1 encouraged by god-awful ty map design.

I was trying to stay optimistic, but I have to face facts and admit that I full on DO NOT LIKE THIS GAME. I don't just not like it, I actively dislike it. ers ruined it.

Game is astounding. The maps are definitely, 100% surely not too big. If you aren't getting action, get the out of the corner and stop hiding because I'm getting too much. Camping is a "problem" (tactic you apparently are unprepared for) in every FPS, especially realistic ones.

The way the perks and gun attachments are setup now, nearly perfect.

The interface/GUI are great, as well.

Well, that's your opinion. I feel like it's a chaotic, unstealthy, poorly-designed, arcadey mess. There is an un-proportionally large amount of campers. And I do not like the guns.

All I can say is that my pulse hasn't been raised once. When playing CoD4 I would be so pumped and so into it that my heart would literally try to explode out my chest. On the regular. Haven't had that feeling once, not once, in like 8 hours with mw2.

z0sa, voicing his opinion as fact again.

No offense dude, but who are you to tell someone else that they are wrong about an opinion they have? I've actually read from numerous sources that the maps are too big, even some reviews, and vets I've talked to from CoD4.

no offense, but you don't even own the game. Your opinion doesn't exist here.

And waw's maps were a good deal larger on average, excluding tank maps. You didn't play waw? Not my problem.

Dome, waw's smallest and most intensive map, is about the average size of your MW2 map.

Jesus, is it a camper zone or is an arcadey, unstealthy mess? Make up your mind already.

Mine is consistently high. I absolutely love this game, love the strategies I can employ, enjoy the different balancing and feel. It's a success in every way I say, PC gaming plights withstanding. The maps are great, too IMO. The weapons are excellent if overly numerous. The killstreak rewards add a completely new facet to the game.

Lot of good . Is it perfect? No. But way better than 4/WaW.

BTW, over 1.3 million MW2ers were on xblive last night.

Both. Lots of people camping. In particular, search has been ruined by the heartbeat sensor. A ton of background noise- so much that the ninja perk is almost entirely useless. Tons of bull popping up all over the screen. I don't need to see that 'payback' fill my screen 10 times a game. The background music is more distracting and is much louder than it was in 4. I know that's a complaint people had about 4. It never bothered me, but it is now. That commando perk is gay as . Getting gunned down by an airship while you're on the bottom floor of a two story building is gay as . The fact that the game is more or less- 'get 5 kills and hope you don't die while using your overly powerful killstreaks' is gay as .

The maps are poorly designed in a way that there are too many long, nonsensical sightlines. Too many places that offer no defense whatsoever. I can't tell you how many times I've put sight on someone who was in a choke point, only to get clipped from some bull angle that I wouldn't have even thought to check because it wouldn't make any sense for someone to be there. There's no symmetry. I don't feel like there are two teams with opposing spawns- it's just a bunch of people spread randomly throughout these huge ass collections of randomly dispersed buildings.

, I had a more enjoyable time with the WaW beta, than I'm having with this.

I intend to get good enough and familiar enough with this game that I'll be able to over-come some of its flaws. That doesn't mean I don't think it's deeply flawed.

Please show me where I've given my opinion about the quality of gameplay for MW2. I'm simply pointing out that someone had a complaint about the game, and your method to discussing the point was to say, "No it's not and that's a fact because I deem it so."

The fact that I've got multiple sources that disagree with you, balli included, casts your rose-tinted perception of this game into doubt.

When someone says, "I don't like this and this" about a game, and you respond with, "No you're wrong everything is perfect this is the best game EVAR", who do you think sounds like they're rationally evaluating the software? balli was pretty hyped for this game, so I'm not sure you could accuse him of bias.

Also, has anybody noticed how you have to wait for animations? Like in 4, if you wanted to swap out your pistol for a dead man's gun, all you had to do was hit y and x in quick succession as you passed over it.

Now you have to change to your secondary, stop and wait for the animation to finish and then swap it out. It seems trivial, but in a game of milliseconds, those animations take quite a while. If you don't intend to use it, why should you have to wait for an animation in which your secondary gun is readied for use? All I want to do is throw my pistol away and grab another gun as I run by it.

That's what I'm saying. It'll still swap it out, but it waits for the animation to finish, before it changes which weapon you actually have equipped. So end up dropping your primary and going back.

It used to be as soon as you hit the button to cycle between your secondary and primary, you had that newer gun equipped and could drop it even before the animation finished.

Modern Warfare 2 PC Hacked for Dedicated Servers

    http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/...ontent=Twitter

Just one week after "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" went on sale, some PC players appear to have found a workaround solution to their dissatisfaction with Infinity Ward's new IWNet system. When Infinity Ward announced that it would forgo dedicated servers for the new matchmaking setup similar to what console players experience, a large number of gamers signed a pe ion expressing their discontent. Now, some of those code-savvy complainers have reportedly recreated a dedicated server experience by unlocking the game's developer consoler.

IWNet currently still recognizes the servers as "ranked" and "legal," according to Destructoid. A video posted of the altered gameplay shows the developer console in action that led to the breakthrough.

A response from Activision and/or Infinity Wards can't be far behind, particularly if the console discovery leads to further gameplay hacks and cheats. One of IWNet's chief purposes was to tightly regulate such activities, and hacks including non-recoiling guns and aiming augmentation may already be floating around.

Such feats have been around for generations of online first-person shooters, but the short timeline on which these hacks were accomplished following the game's launch is astounding. Never underestimate the for ude of an obsessive PC gamer with time to burn and hackable grievance.
