I mean on though with RJ. If RJ is still not fitting later in the season would you consider trading him too?
RJ is probably even harder to trade than Mason/Finley. At least with the latter you know they're expiring immediately. Jefferson still has another year in his contract.

I think it's time to find Manu a new home and see what Duncan can fetch (i know this is blasphemy) after this season, if it is a failure.
    Duncan will retire a Spurs.

Even if they would, he's got a horrible contract. The only way would be to dump him for less talent, so I don't see that happening.

This game is so painful to watch. Both teams really struggling. Comparing this game to a high school game is not too fair off.

The way Mason's been playing he'd have trouble making it on a D-league roster.
I'm confident that, at this point, there are D-league players that would help this team more than Mason.

The San Antonio Spurs will never win another championship if we keep giving up offensive rebounds game-in and game-out the way we have for almost three straight years.
Uh, the Spurs have been the best defensive rebounding team in the NBA over the last three years. Last year they set the record as the best defensive rebounding team of all time.

Duncan missed some shots just out of bad luck, he was playing well I think.

Bonner was good, not only making shots, but doing well defensively.

I was wondering had Bonner gotten Bill Laimbeer's character he would knock Nowitzki's out of ass.

From an outsiders point of view, I think it is time for the Spurs to see what they can get for some of the older players, and then start developing the young guys.

Injuries will keep happening and you can't win a championship when your 3 top players are struggling with injuries on an ongoing basis.

I think it's time to find Manu a new home and see what Duncan can fetch (i know this is blasphemy) after this season, if it is a failure.

Don't flame me. I am just giving my 2 cents worth
Tim's going nowhere. He and Pop will ride off into the sunset together in 2012.

As for Manu, I'm starting to think we might have to look to trade him, sad as that is to admit. All that pounding he has taken over the last 6 years is catching up with him now.

How did just a great player from last year become so terrible? It all started when Coach Pop put in at back-up PG.

The good thig about Manu is that it doesn't look to be anything major.
But Pop needs to just sit him and TP down and let them heal.

so offensive rebounding's never been a problem for the spurs?

my bad thanks for setting the record straight

RJ isn't going to get traded, and he shouldn't..

Mason and Finley are expiring contracts, if you combine them with Ian and whatever else, we can get something decent IMO..if you throw in Bonner(we need a big in return), we can get something..

Manu is still a very good player, but the obvious problem is his durability..if the FO doesn't want to take a risk on his body being ready for the playoffs, he gives us a huge expiring contract..

    this team has options..

the current rotation, even assuming chemistry is built, isn't winning a le..guys like Finley and Mason don't play major minutes together on le teams..

    First-half stats for Matt Bonner:

    3-4 FG, 3-3 3PT, 9 Pts, 7 Rebs

Bonner has looked great off the bench in the last four or five ball games. He seems to play better off the bench than starting.

Finley is 2-4 FG and 1-1 from three and Bonner and Finley are the only Spurs with a field goal percentage of at least 50%.

Mason Jr. is 1-7 with more air balls than scores.

The Spurs are lucky the Mavs aren't hitting their threes or it would probably be a double digit lead.

Pop doesn't look concerned. Maybe he's resignedto his fate and thinking about the 4 rings he already has?

Since the year Robinson was drafted, '89, Spurs have been in the Playoffs every season except one-- We don't have seasons that end in "failure," and the Spurs FO always keeps an eye towards long term needs.

Anybody think the switch to afternoon practices might be the cause of this awful play from the Spurs this season?
