The astros haven't peaked. They had the pitching all along...now that the bats are going, they have a great shot at the Wild Card. What if they got in as the wildcard and the Nationals won their division. The Braves would be out of the playoffs for the first time in like a million years!

I'm happy that the Astros have returned to some form of respectability, but I don't expect it to last. Their lineup has overachieved lately.

The Astros are not standing pat. They are going to acquire a big bat in the next week or so.

I like the Houston Astros in the National League, I hope they can make a run and make it interesting in the 2nd half.

    Really?

    -----

    April 23 - St. Louis 1 / Houston 0

    Clemens - 7 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 6 K (continued his 23-inning scoreless streak)

Qualls gives up the one-run to leave Roger with a no-decision.

    -----

    June 5 - Houston 6 / St. Louis 4

    Clemens - 5 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K (HOU's bullpen saves the game for Roger)

    -----

    July 17 - St. Louis 3 / Houston 0

Clemens - 7 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 K (take away the unearned runs and this is a 1-0 loss for the Astros)

    -----

First off, you were straight wrong on the Cards being 2-0 in games Roger has pitched. What a surprise.

Carpenter and Clemens have had the same number of starts (19). Clemens has the lower ERA. Put Clemens on the Cards and he probably has a better record then Carpenter does right now.

I'm not saying Carpenter isn't the Cy Young, but don't come in here with your back-ass baseball, homer-rific, Monday Morning pitching coach thoughts and give wrong information, call Willis overrated and flatly write stupid thoughts.
