They get endorsements because they are professional athletes and all the fans like watching them play sports. The fact that people give a about who they're ing or that banging Tiger Woods is, apparently, a valid career path is part of and obsession wholly removed from the reason they're commercially successful. If we never knew anything about Tiger Woods other than the fact he's a good golfer, he'd be just as sought after for endorsements as he ever was.
Bull . I don't doubt that there are plenty of celebrities who are attention s and like the invasive publicity, but it's ridiculous to suggest that they all want it. That the craft/sport they've chosen to pursue happens to mean they operate within the public eye is a far cry from the suggestion that they all, universally, chose to pursue that craft/sport because, deep down, they wanted to someday publicly tell the story of that one time they got beaten by a golf club.

Tiger Woods' British lawyers have obtained a court order from the High Court in London, prohibiting British publications from publishing any nude photos and videos of Tiger Woods ... and TMZ has obtained copies of the do ents.
Tiger Woods' lawyers sent a letter to multiple UK papers and blogs, stating the court order "prevents the publication of private and confidential information contained in the Order.... this Order is not to be taken as any admission that any such photographs exist, and in the event they do exist they may have been fabricated, altered, manipulated and/or changed to create the false appearance and impression that they are nude photographs of our client."
The court order also covers any possible videos. It blocks the publication of "any photographs, footage or images taken or obtained of the claimant [Tiger] naked or any naked parts of the claimant's [Tiger's] body or of him involved in any sexual activity."
The lawyer's letter says, "Our client is not aware of any images and in any event he would not have consented to any such photographs being taken nor would he have consented to the dissemination or exploitation of the same."
Is it just me, or is TMZ actually one of the best journalism outfits going, regardless of the content?

Elin Nordegren, the wife of Tiger Woods, will seek a divorce, ABC News.com is reporting.
A source close to Nordegren told the Web site on Wednesday that a "divorce is 100 percent on."
Nordegren was recently photographed pumping gas without her wedding ring.
Woods and his wife have been married for five years and have a 2-year-old daughter and a 10-month-old son.
Woods announced late last week he was taking an indefinite leave from public life and golf while he works to fix his marriage after multiple allegations of infidelity.
The announcement came two weeks after Woods crashed his SUV into a tree outside his Florida home, setting in motion a stunning downfall for the world's No. 1 player who for 13 years rarely made news off the golf course. One woman who said she had a 31-month affair with Woods shared a voice mail that she said Woods left her two nights before his Nov. 27 accident.
"I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children," Woods said in a statement released last week. "I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try."
Woods has not been seen in public since the accident.

Elin to seek divorce, up to $500 million
Tiger Woods' furious wife has tapped a top divorce lawyer and is planning to take the golf great for as much as half his billion-dollar fortune for repeatedly cheating on her with a bevy of birdies throughout their five-year marriage, it was reported yesterday.
"She plans to leave Tiger," a source close to Elin Nordegren told People magazine. "She's made up her mind. There's nothing to think about -- he's never going to change."
The stunning Swedish beauty is believed to have contacted veteran Los Angeles celebrity attorney Sorrell Trope -- who has represented Nicole Kidman, Britney Spears and Cary Grant -- to renegotiate the terms of a prenuptial agreement and end the marriage, according the several other reports.
Nordegren, 29, is eyeing filing for divorce in California where the couple has a home because the Golden State's no-fault divorce laws would make it easier for her to take a larger piece of his assets, it was reported.
But experts say it may not be so easy for her to take advantage of California law. She or Tiger would have to prove either one had spent the previous six months in the state upon filing.
"They've been living in Florida. The fact that they might own a house in California doesn't matter if they're not physically in California," said John Hodson, chairman of the California Bar's family-law section.
Trope did not return calls for comment.
The move comes a day after The Post reported Nordegren was about to move out of the couple's Florida home with their two kids and was seen directing a moving crew to cart out items.
And days earlier, Nordegren had been spotted pumping gas while not wearing her wedding band and engagement ring in a clear sign a breakup was imminent.
"She knew what she was doing when she stepped out and pumped gas without her wedding rings," a source close to her told MSNBC.
"She and Tiger are living separately now, but she'll be making this split very open and official right after Christmas."
"She's a strong woman, this is beyond embarrassing, and she has a daughter and son she has to think about, who will know about this one day," the source said. "Forgiveness isn't exactly around the corner."

Woods' reported relationship with Uchitel was what set the whole story going -- prompting Nordegren to allegedly attack his SUV with a golf club and more than a dozen other women to come forward. Woods reportedly paid Uchitel millions to keep quiet about the affair.
"Tiger was texting her, trying to find time to get together again. He wasn't even fazed!" one of Uchitel's pals told US Weekly. "Rachel said he told her he was going to leave his wife for her, that he needed to be with her."
Also yesterday, it was reported that Jamie Jungers, one of the many beauties to come forward to say they'd been with Tiger, was a stripper at an upscale Las Vegas club, her old boss told Radar Online.
