Eventually this will be the downfall of the Florida program. They won't get star QB's who want to play at the next level and Tebow's don't grow on trees. Meyer needs to get a QB guru in there and adjust the spread option stuff. WIll be very interesting how that program does over the next few years. They'll be stacked everywhere else of course(see latest signing day) but if your QB situation is shaky you will have issues in the SEC.

Brantley is a pure passer, they are not going to have troubles with him stepping in as QB.

Harsh words, but not really wrong ones.

Look at Alex Smith - he was much more accurate and had a stronger arm than Tebow, and he clearly wasn't prepared to run an NFL offense. It's taken him 4 years to become a competent QB.

While there is a learning curve associated with any QB making the next jump, most of that curve is due to the speed and complications provided by NFL defenses. To have to learn how to run a real offense from scratch at the same time just puts you too far behind the 8 ball.

One of the reasons that scouts loved guys like Matt Ryan and Josh Freeman in the drafts the last couple years. In addition to the skill sets they brought, they also had played in pro-style offenses for at least 3 years prior.
