Why would the Suns want Dalembert?
If the Suns are trading with Philly, it's for Iguodala/Young for Amare. Dalembert makes little sense with this team, and he and Richardson basically have the exact same contract, so that's not saving them any money.
Also, Philly already has its post prospect in Speights.
I think the Suns can get better then that. As in Beasley

I disagree I think he can put up better numbers in the Sun's open style of play. Plus he has not reached his potential yet.

Sixers basically get JJ Hickson for Andre Iguodala?Sixers arent even looking to do just a salary dump. They dont attract any big name FA after this season. They want talent. and JJ Hickson aint a talent you can build around.
Teams say alot of things at the trade deadline. If Wade is ok with trading Beasley for Amare or Bosh you don't think the Heat pull the trigger to keep him happy? And vice versa if Wade wants Beasley around,
What ceiling? Yours? Beasley is a sop re lol. Kid is a legt 23 pts and 9 reb a game forward in due time.
I'd take Beasley, but not Beasley alone. I like the Heat's offer because it includes immediate CAP relief, an additional mid-round 1st and Beasley, but I've been following Beasley for a while now and he's always been immature, his physical stature stunts his ability as a PF, and I think he's prone to settle on talent.
Could be wrong, but I don't see him every being an All-Star. Maybe alongside Nash, but I don't think you can build around a Nash-enhanced Beasley. I doubt Hickson is any better, either...
Truth is, there's no wins right now. I'd more willingly trade with Miami, because I think they get that they NEED Amare, and I think the Suns could pry away a returning package similar to the Gasol deal with CAP space (Richardson), prospect (Beasley) and two 1st (including their own mid-round 1st in 2010).
I would accept that offer because I think the Suns could turn Clark/Collins/acquired future 1st to NY for Jordan Hill.
At that point your returning package is Beasley/Hill/2010 1st/CAP relief for Amare/Clark.
That makes more sense than anything I've seen from other teams, unless Philly is wlling to part with Iguodala and Young or Speights.
Pat is willing to trade Beasley only if he gets confirmation from Amare that he's signing with the Heat when his contract expires.
If Amare does'nt sign, Heat loses Beasley for nothing.
i thought it was just the suns and sixers talking directly for that swap . unless its tough times for for philly financially its stupid.
From what has been reported Amare's first choice is Miami. He is from Florida and does live in Miami in the offseason. I guess we will see.
reports also say #1 suns dont really like anyone other than wade and #2 riley isnt shopping beasley around. would be interesting for amare, he gets to go home i wonder if he would commit immediately cause he gets what he wants
AMARE TRADE RUMORS: Phoenix star Amare Stoudemire has been mentioned in trade rumors, including several reports that the Cleveland Cavaliers have zeroed in on the five-time All-Star.
“Right now, I’m a Phoenix Sun,” Stoudemire said. “If anything changes, I’ll play and act the same way.”
Stoudemire had 12 points and 10 rebounds as a West starter. Afterward, most of the questions he took from reporters were about his possible move to join LeBron James and Co.
“I haven’t heard nothing solid,” Stoudemire said. “I plan on traveling to Memphis with the Suns and playing the Grizzlies.”
as a die hard suns fan i can't help but feel like connie corleone from the godfather, with robert sarver and steve kerr as michael corleone and jerry and bryan colangelo as vito corleone. vito had the love and vision for the future of the family for which the family was loyal and greatful. michael was all about the bottom line, alienating the very people who depended on him. we have come so close to getting to the promise land and these bag new owners and management have dismantled everthing this team could've accomplished. why couldn't they have let us see what a cohesive team could've done instead of playing musical ing chairs every year with less talented players with even more bloated contracts. suns fans will forever get ed in the ass with a sandpaper condom from this ownership. from letting joe johnson walk over 400k more a year, to not squashing shawn marion's ego and letting him know how valuable he was to the team, to not giving the shaq experiment another shot after amar'e got hurt and we were blowing out teams by 40, to getting rid of kurt thomas, eddie house, q richardson, james jones, raja bell, boris diaw, matt barnes, and other role players and numerous draft picks that would've made a difference over these last 6 years. i'll NEVER stop being a Suns fan, that's for life, but SARVER and THE FRONT OFFICE....

Cavs remain leaders to land Stoudemire

The Phoenix Suns are getting closer to making a decision on the future of Amar’e Stoudemire, and the Cleveland Cavaliers have emerged as the frontrunner to acquire the All-Star forward, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Multiple sources believe the Suns have decided to move Stoudemire before Thursday’s trade deadline and are simply positioning themselves to get the best possible offer.
The Suns have had serious discussions on a trade that would send Stoudemire to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Zydrunas Ilgauskas and J.J. Hickson, but sources say neither side has yet to commit that it will make the trade should the other give the nod. Nevertheless, the Cavs are the clear frontrunner over Philadelphia and Miami for the simple reason that Cleveland has an acceptable deal on the table for the Suns.
The Cavaliers are dealing in a position of strength because there are so few buyers on the trade market now. Cleveland has won 13 straight games, has the league’s best record (43-11) and doesn’t have to make the deal for Stoudemire.
Still, the Cavs’ ownership and front office will spare no expense to make a move they believe will result in a championship. As much as anything, they believe the re-signing of LeBron James could well rest with winning the le. James is a major proponent of the Stoudemire trade and much will be in bent on him to make the partnership with him, Stoudemire and Shaquille O’Neal work.
However, James has given the Cavaliers no promise that trading for – and retaining – Stoudemire would assure that he re-signs this summer. Acquiring Stoudemire could help, but James and his inner circle continue to privately insist they’ll explore free agency in July before making a final decision.
If there’s one trade offer that would be likeliest to usurp the Cavs’ proposal, it would be the Philadelphia 76ers softening on their stance that they won’t include Andre Iguodala with Sam Dalembert in a package for Stoudemire and Leandro Barbosa. The Suns had been receptive to that deal, despite the belief of some in the league that Phoenix owner Robert Sarver doesn’t want to take on future contracts, just shed them.
Sixers general manager Ed “Stefanski doesn’t want Stoudemire and [Elton] Brand together,” one source said.
The Miami Heat desperately want Stoudemire to play with Dwyane Wade, but don’t have a combination of young players, expiring contracts and picks that appeal to the Suns. The Heat are trying to find a third team to give the Suns an acceptable young player, but one league source involved in the process said, “It will have to include a piece I would be shocked to see them obtain.”
Stoudemire is rooting hardest for that scenario because he will eagerly opt out of his contract’s final year and sign an extension with the Heat this offseason. The Cavaliers would be intriguing for Stoudemire to re-sign with – simply because of LeBron – but so far there’s been no discussion.
Most believe Sarver, who has had financial turmoil, is driving the Cavaliers’ scenario because a buyout of Ilgauskas’ $11.5 million expiring contract could get the Suns under the luxury-tax threshold.
One source said James even probed Stoudemire over a month ago on his willingness to play a supporting role with the Cavaliers. Apparently, James liked Stoudemire’s response. Whatever issues that Stoudemire and Shaq had playing together for a season and a half in Phoenix are resolved to the satisfaction of the Cavs.
Cleveland also is still considering deals for Washington’s Antawn Jamison and Indiana’s Troy Murphy. Despite some speculation, the Cavaliers haven’t had any dialogue with the Detroit Pistons about a three-way deal that would result with Richard Hamilton coming to Cleveland, a league source said.
Neither Washington nor Indiana is sure how serious the Cavs are to make a deal for Stoudemire, or whether Cleveland GM Danny Ferry is just trying to pressure those teams into lowering their asking prices. Nevertheless, the idea that the Cavs would leverage Suns GM Steve Kerr to the deadline on Thursday and leave them stuck without a trade is unlikely. “Danny and Steve are best friends,” said one league source who talks frequently to both of them. “He would not use Steve like that. No way.”
While it’s against NBA rules to make a pre-arranged deal, multiple sources say Ilgauskas would have to be on board with taking a buyout from the Suns, allowing him to return to the Cavs after the 30-day waiting period. The Suns certainly factor in how much Ilgauskas would want in a buyout to make sure this trade gets them maximum tax relief. Much of that buyout would hinge on how much the Cavs could give him to re-sign. The Cavs still have their bi-annual exception available to re-sign Ilgauskas.
A source close to Ilgauskas insisted the issues he had with coach Mike Brown over where and when he would break Cleveland’s record for games played wouldn’t affect his desire to return.
Ugh.
Is Cleveland big enough for Amare & Shaq?

On Sunday, ESPN.com’s Chris Broussard reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Phoenix Suns had seriously discussed a trade that would send Amare Stoudemire to Cleveland for J.J. Hickson (and the expiring contract of Zydrunas Ilgauskas). As Broussard reported, the Cavs had made the offer and the ball was in Phoenix's court.
In the meantime, I’ve spoken to sources connected to the Cavs, the Suns and other teams around the league, and while they confirm that the Stoudemire trade discussions between Cleveland and Phoenix are at a serious stage, they also describe a fluid situation, with trade discussions taking place on multiple fronts.
Here is what I’m hearing as of early Monday:
For the Suns, the Stoudemire-Hickson trade would be something of a last resort. The Suns have been hoping to land more than just Hickson and financial relief for Stoudemire.
In particular, the Suns are still holding out hope that Philadelphia will come to the table and agree to a deal sending Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert to Phoenix. The Suns have sweetened their offer to the 76ers by including Leandro Barbosa in a package with Stoudemire. Also possible is a three-way trade that would send Hickson and Barbosa (along with Ilgauskas) to Philly, Stoudemire to Cleveland and Iguodala and Dalembert to Phoenix.
Expect the Suns to turn up the heat significantly on the Sixers on Monday.
The Miami Heat remain very interested in Stoudemire and are trying to find a third team to help improve their offer to Phoenix. Though Amare is amenable to going to Cleveland, Miami is his first choice.
Meanwhile, Cleveland remain interested in obtaining either Antawn Jamison of the Washington Wizards or Troy Murphy of the Indiana Pacers. According to an official from one of those two teams, the Cavs said on Sunday that a Stoudemire trade was not a done deal and the team was still evaluating its options.
Even if the Cavs get Stoudmire, they might attempt do a secondary trade to obtain Jamison or Murphy to fill the need for a 4 who could stretch the floor with his shooting.
Given that the Cavs have concerns about well Stoudemire and Shaquille O’Neal would fit together, the team would consider moving Shaq if it acquired Amare. For instance, the Cavs could swap O’Neal and their first-round pick to Washington for Jamison and Mike Miller. They could send the same package to Indiana in a deal for Murphy and Mike Dunleavy.
One surprising note: According to a source, Amare's agent has yet to be contacted by the Cavs. Since Stoudemire has an early termination clause in his contract, it’s possible that Cleveland is willing to acquire Stoudemire without assurances that he will stay with the Cavs beyond this season. Still, one should expect the Cavs to gather some sort of intel on Stoudemire’s wishes.
As has been speculated, if the Suns do acquire Ilgauskas, they would likely waive him, which would open the door for him to return to Cleveland after a 30-day wait.
Trade Amare to the Heat for Michael Beasley, Dorell Wright, Q's expiring, and their 1st-round draft pick. If the Heat want Earl Clark, too, they can have him.
Flip Beasley to a bottom-feeder in need of a young, solid PF in Beasley... for another (smaller) expiring contract and a high, unprotected 1st-round draft pick.
Essentially, you get two mid-to-high 1st round picks, financial relief with Q's $8.7 mil. expiring and the expiring you get from the 2nd team, and Dorell Wright.
Pipe Dream: Sign Bosh with the newly acquired cap space and Nash's influence, don't sell your two new draft picks, and own some es.
