"Best player in the history of the planet" = GOAT
Hahah laughable, again you've forgotten how to read. I didn't ask for "the best player". I SPECIFICALLY asked for GOAT links.
Here is my original question for the RIF crowd:

Step up your game Jammy.
Jam, a word of advice - arguing with Allanon(75 win Ecstasy) is useless. You know he's wrong, we know he's wrong, he himself knows he's wrong - but he'll never admit it. Instead, he would argue semantics like a . This is the guy who lied about being a bandwagon laker fan and joining after the gasol thread, before Mono posted he's join date and showed what a lying little he was(lol@lying about your join date). Save yourself the time, brah.
I got in an argument with him before and I was getting so pissed off...not because he was schooling me but because he would never say that he was wrong despite all my evidence.
It sucks.
Funny thread. Not saying I aGREE but I hear what Alanon is saying ...
Jam is right by his 3rd le the general populace felt MJ was the GOAT but i think teh 5th and 6th les cemented it ...
Mj knew this an once he passed Magic he rested ...
Lebron is PROBALY going to be even GREATER than Kobe but he needs to PROVE IT with les ...
If he gets to at least 4 I WILL argue on Lebron's behalf to be in the Kobe, Magic MJ discussion ...he needs to catch Bird first though ...
he needs to CATCH WADE first!!!
Allanon and Blake are the kings of that
I refuse to act with common decency![]()
"Ban me timvp".![]()
Lebron may be the "best player in the history of the planet" one day; but that won't necessarily make him the GOAT.
Heheh, still not even one GOAT link eh? Only excuses as usual.
Pathetic.![]()
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_%28publishing%29A short newspaper or magazine piece that deals specifically with a particular field of interest, or broadly with an issue or cir stance of far-reaching scope. They appear with bylines on a regular basis (daily, weekly, etc.). They may be written exclusively for one newspaper or magazine, they may be marketed by a syndicate, or they may be self-syndicated by the author.
Thanks wikipedia for telling me what a column is.
Neither you nor anybody else was able to beat my argument; why should I say I was wrong?
Easy
Shaq<Bynum
Verajao<Pau
Lebron>Artest
Parker<Kobe
Delonte>Fisher
Plus
Cavs' entire bench < Odom
Step up your game guys.
lol that's old, guys improve and decline. At the beginning of the year I would have said that Parker is better than Nash, Now I wouldn't.
That quote is from last year where Shaq averaged 18 ppg and 8.4 rbds and Bynum had more fouls than minutes in the playoffs.
More excuses?
That's ok. That applies this year as well. Shaq has owned Bynum. It's no secret, just look at the beating Shaq put on Bynum and Gasol this season.
Dwight too "Superman my ass"
Next.![]()
dude just needs his ass beat, that's all he needs.
looks like no kobe tonight.
Yeah, I just heard that too.
I wonder if he'll play against the Celtics. 5 days of rest after that Celtics game so maybe he should skip it too.
Long piece (5 pages) on Kobe in the March GQ.
In It To Win It
Is Kobe Bryant possessed of transcendent talent? Of course. But that's not what makes him great. For fourteen grueling seasons, the 31-year-old former prodigy has cracked, fractured, strained, torn, cut, bruised, nicked, and risked every part of his finely tuned self. And he's got the rings—and the scars—to show for it.

Damn Mbenga is one ugly mother er.
From The OC today (via TrueHoop)
The best player in the NBA sat during the Celtics-Lakers game Thursday night. Can't blame him. By then, LeBron James had scored 43 points and added 15 assists and 13 rebounds. Poor fella had to be exhausted. Sorry, Lakers fans, but the best player in the league today isn't your guy. Is there anyone other than Kobe Bryant we'd rather have with the ball at the end of a game waiting to be won? No. Is there anyone better suited than le-tested Bryant to lead these Lakers on another postseason run? No. Is there anyone more polished than Bryant at the art of rescuing unexpected victory from looming defeat? No. But is there anyone in the NBA better than LeBron James right now? No. No. And -- say this one with extra-special emphasis -- no! Breathe deep, Kobe Nation. We know you get a little defensive when it comes to questions about Bryant's status as a living bronze statue. And recall that just a few weeks ago Bryant was anointed as 'unguardable' in this very space. If there's a word that pays greater homage to a basketball player, we've never heard it. But still, James scores more, assists more and rebounds more. He blocks more shots and shoots field goals more accurately, even three-pointers."
I agree with MOST of this ... EXCEPT the 3 point shots ...yes his % is better but I would pay to watch Lebron jack up 3's like he did at the end of the game last night.
Something about when and the WAY he shoots them fading backwards that bugs me ...(sorry Im a coach)
But as the writer states Lebron scores more, rebounds more blocks more shots (though I still think when motivated Kobe is STILL the better defender)
Lebron has passed Kobe (not by whole lot) but it IS tangible. All he needs to do is show it by winning a ring. He HAS the cast now lead them to the promise land at LEast twice ...and the CROWN will be RIGHTFULLY his and his alone.
As a side note even though i would take A lebron drive over ANY basketball play ...I still rather have Melo or Kobe SHOOT with the game on the line ...like the writer states here.
No problem admitting this we just need the rings to validate what most already know ...

Y'all just lucky I can't talk about LeBron due to losing a bet to Behold the King.
Or else I'd point out the painfully obvious from last night![]()
