Eh, he isnt the entire problem. He hasnt played great lately but....Our rotations suck, our D lacks in key moments, and as a team we are weak in the mind...especially in crunch time(4th quarter). We can not overcome any adversity at all. Also a new year with alot of new players in PoPs system. Add everything above and PoP's terrible coaching and the teams terrible chemistry and shooting...well that = our year. It is obvious we lack size, and our players our out of it, and weak in key moments, but we actually compete and are in almost every game. I think with a key piece or two, next year we will be a more legitament threat. Well, I hope anyways.
I was literally cringing everytime Timmy touched the ball. He looked terrible out there and could barely run back down the court.
The Lakers officially decapitated the Duncan era in 2008.
Typical ridiculous spurs fan.
Typical no perspective.
Typical couldn't be further from reality.
Tim Duncan doesnt care? What the . When Pop surrounds him with a washed up player, a pussy 3 pt shooter, and an undersized center, it will wear him out. Tim and Manu are the two biggest winners on the team. Tim cares, he's just getting old.
The Spurs closed down the The Forum, so I guess one good decapitation deserves another.
Nice rebuttal to my thread.
Please visit the troll forum if all you wanna do is call people names like a child.
I said tim doesn't have it in him anymore to take over games and doesn't look like he cares.
If you don't agree come up with something better to say. Prove me wrong... I hope I'm wrong I hope tim proves me wrong
It was really tough to see Timmy play so poorly especially against Pau Gasol's soft ass. This is what happens when the organization doesn't give Tim adequate help, he'll eventually breakdown every March, April and May.
Shut up.
Tim cares...just doesn't have anything left. It's sad really, having to carry the load up until the All-Star break ruined him for the 2nd year in a row. I'll look forward to seeing his HOF speech in 8 years, it is probably the last highlight he has left in his career.
Lame thread. Age catches up with us all- it's a part of life. Just let Duncan age gracefully without stupid, inflammatory retoric.
When Dave was 32 years old, he got Tim Duncan. Whom did Tim get?
i think tims a warrior, but has chosen to live to fight another day
Lots of minutes played these past few games including an overtime and a game time change. He definitely needs rest time between games.
God help this franchise when Duncan and Ginobili are gone.
While I won't go as far as saying the Spurs' fan base is the most ignorant there is, for ignorance is found wherever there is fanaticism or a rooting interest, these threads aren't a good look . . .
Tim is literally gassed. I don't know how else to put it.
They were down three with the ball at around the 7-minute mark and I knew it was over then. The team was dead-legged, floundering and a timeout was called; the body language of Tim was one of the most depressing sights I've seen in a while. He didn't even look like he'd be able to return.
The fact that Tim's still out there busting his ass in the paint doing everything in his power to hold off younger, more physically fit players, all while having to get out on the floor setting screens and battling on the offensive glass, to say nothing of the offensive burden he's forced to carry, shows just the type of character and warrior he has and is; show me a player with similar knee problems, mileage, age and team responsibilities that's done better.
So with all due respect . . .
STFU, GTFO and SMD.![]()
Tim cares, but Pop hasn't done anything to help him the paint this year (well technically he did by signing Ratliff but that was just a tease signing) and he's clearly been in a funk since Pop has started force feeding Bonner 20+ minutes a game. Ian Mahinmi has been 100% healthy all year long and has seen little more than a handful of garbage minutes with the exception of 1 game. If I was Tim Duncan I would rather retire than play another year under Greg Popovich.
And don't forget Staples -- Spurs were first to win a playoff series there other than the Lakers.![]()
He's pretty bad
This team would be so much better defensively if Ratliff and Mahinmi were getting Bonner's 20+ minutes a game. Our wing 3 point shooters like Mason would be getting enough looks every game to get into some kind of shooting rhythym. When Bonner is out there he literally takes 1/2 of the shots and he literally needs to shoot 45% from 3 in order to justify his lack of defense.
Sooo not true....
No way I'm a normal poster
I don't think Tim cares, at least not about this team, not about this season.
Maybe he's spoiled after so many seasons where the Spurs were contenders.
I think it's pretty ty he's not having some pride and competing no matter what. It's $275K/game, the fans deserve better, even if there's no chance to get out of the first round. You go down fighting, not quitting.
