They count the same in the standings. If you think they don't, I'm not sure what to say at this point.

Besides, why are you angry? According to you, they suck, so they're just losing to the teams they're supposed to lose to, no surprises here.
Yea when every win right now is HUGE it doesnt mean much. This aint the eastern conference son.

In the standings, yes they do. But to say a game in November (when exactly zero teams in the league have any idea what any specific game ultimately means) is exactly the same as a game in April (where, say you're in a 4 team race for the 2 seed with six games to go, knowing exactly where you stand with six games to go, knowing full well that every game is huge in gaining that advantageous playoff positioning)...if you're really saying they're exactly the same, then either you've really got Mavs blinders on on you're just trolling me. I sure hope it's the latter tbh.

I really blame this on Carlisle. He has tired out the starters and they aren't executing well now. After the all-star break they were fresh and pumped. The heavy minutes warn them down. If this was a young team, I wouldn't be concered.
Refs made a couple of terrible calls that put Kidd in foul trouble in the second quarter - the charge he drew on Harden that they counted as a foul and gave him the And One, and the travel on Westbrook where they also called a foul on Kidd. Five points for the Zombies, and Kidd sat. Carlisle should've kept him in - if anybody knows how to play with foul trouble, it's Kidd. The Mavs got off to a great start tonight and surrendered their lead and let the Zombies take control in the 2nd quarter with Kidd sitting. Refs blew those calls but Carlisle should trust a guy with Kidd's bball iq to not pick up another foul. The second quarter is where the game turned and we were back on our heels the rest of the night. Also didn't help that Marion went out early - he was doing a great job on Durant, per usual.

If the starters weren't playing heavy minutes then maybe the Mavs wouldn't be in 2nd place.

I dunno if the sayings applicable here, but you cant have your cake and eat it too ... fact of the matter is the Mavs didn't have the skill or depth to give lighter minutes to Dirk and Kidd.

And Dirk/Kidd played well tonight. Caron/Terry/Haywood sucked and they dont receive enough minutes to be "worn down".

The stakes are a bit higher, but it's not just the players that lost this game - I thought Carlisle should've left Kidd in the game in the second quarter when the refs tagged him with those two bull calls. The game unfolded in the first quarter pretty much the way I thought it would, and then without Marion to check Durant, and Kidd sitting on the bench, the Zombies took control. This team is pretty smart when Kidd is in the game and pretty stupid without him.

It's not like we should be able to roll a team like the Zombies - I was expecting a 5-7 point win, and that second quarter is where the game was lost.

Agreed. Kidd had his rest. He was ready to go and Carlisle has to bench him. When's the last time we've seen Kidd close to fouling out? Stupid coach we have.

Not hating on JJ as he played well tonight once again but the lead went down the drain as soon as Roddy went down and JJ came in

Something about JJ's prescence that causes the team to go down the drain.

Losing Marion (to check Durant) and Kidd (run the offense) for the second quarter and they win that frame by 10 points.

That's not where Carlisle went wrong IMO. Carlisle were doing fine in the first quarter and the early 2nd until Roddy hurt and Barea subs uted in. He knew Barea gave a horrible weak stave the opposing could exploit but he still gave him massive minutes which led to the 17pt deficit. I thought Roddy would be out of the game with the injury he picked, but he somehow made his return in the late 4th when it was too late already. Carlisle should have subs uted Barea the out as soon as Roddy was done with treatment and fit for game again.

Yep. JJB should only get minutes when Kidd and Roddy are unavailable...or when the team is down by like 15 points and needs a "spark."

anyone would have done well not named Barea, the fat beaning midget who was realistically used and later got curbstomped by the opposing team.

it's unfair to say the Mavs weren't fighting there with full hearts. They tried even harder than they could but still their coach managed to lose the game with a couple horrible subs utions. When the court needed some solid defense to sop the Thunder's fervent strikes, the right guys to use were Roddy or Caron Butler while in reality they were both sitting on bench with Barea on court instead. Barea often impresses the audiences with his ostentatious juggling but that doesn't help with the game, nor does it prevent himself from making some dip s look unstoppable when facing his "defense".

The whole mavs team has been inconsistent from the players to the coaching staff all season. The one thing I hate about Carlisle is that he has no set rotation and he keeps jerking Haywood in and out, in' with JJ and Roddy

They are good job staying ready. I'm just drawing names out of a hat too see who should start and which of JJ or Roddy should get minutes.
Everyone just needs to stay ready, because I have no idea what the the rotation will ever be on any given night.

It's a good thing an assistant coach told you not to do the Barea at PF to start over Dirk though. I know you love midget ball but that would be a little extreme.
