Mahinmi has to play with more aggression and purpose. There were a couple of plays where he easily could have blocked a shot and instead either stood in to take the charge or didn't even bother challenging the shot. If he's going to be a player in this league, it'll be as a Noah/McGee type center.

Spurs should be blowing this open. Grizzlies don't have a single credible perimeter scorer in the game; in fact, they only have one above average player in the game. Pop is overdoing it with resting Duncan and McDyess. If they'd have come back in for the last five minutes, maybe the Spurs maintain or build on their lead. All he's doing is making it so that they'll have to potentially play extended second half minutes.

This is why Phil Jackson likes tall PGs because they can see over the defense and don't throw away passes like TP just did.

Pop better chew them out at the half. They played horribly the last half of the 2nd quarter.

    HORRIBLE EFFORT TO CLOSE.

MATT BONNER WITH THE ING ESCORT SERVICE to the rack.

The Confidence Maker : Matt Bonner. He's open for business again. You're in a slump just get Matt Bonner to guard you. You need a quick bucket, just get Matt Bonner to guard you. You can't hit a shot, call up Matt Bonner and you'll be hitting any shot at any angle with him on you. If you're a small guy, then call up Matt Bonner as he is a true big man that will let any guard own the paint.

I think escorting Conley to the rim 200 times might be a topic for the halftime talk.

Yes - did I miss something? I mean, when the Griz were making their run, why didn't Pop put Tim in?

Do you think Malik and Sam (Young) take advantage of the senior discount when it's made available?

Do you think Oden gave them some tips?

I understand what Pop is doing, but Duncan and McDyess should have played the last five minutes of the half. This isn't a preseason game and the Grizzlies, even without two of their six best players and with virtually nothing to play for aren't the Timberwolves. It might not be a bad idea to make sure the game is firmly in the Spurs control before treating it like it's preseason.

The rotation needs to be tightened in the second half. I don't care about minutes, they've been managed enough. Win the game you have to win, take your chances tomorrow. Don't get caught trying to have your cake and eat it too and lose both.
