While getting swept does suck, the complete can of whupass they unleased on us makes it easier to swallow. I was MUCH more devastated after that game 7 loss to Dallas in 06. I remember just sitting there for like 10 minutes after the game just staring at the television in utter disbelief. That series was alot more compe ive. This was domination.

We are living in the past and watching the Spurs Championship CDs today.
I need to have these. Where can I find them? NBA.com or spurs.com? I'm listening to some great music to kill the pain, in answer to your question. I'm sure a stiff drink wouldn't hurt. Many thanks, once again, for Spurstalk!

I'm wondering how I'm going to set up my Spurs mementos area.
Recording equipment goes right alongside it with musical
    instruments plugged in.
Then I'll use the angst from this last post season run
as my motivation to compose songs while looking at all
    the Silver and Black's accomplishments.
Dvd's will be stacked neatly in disc folders.
Summer will be really, really long.

I am extremely greatful that we have won 4 f*cking championships.... If you would have told me in 1997 that by the time TD retired we would have four banners I would have jumped on it twice over... How lucky have we been? That is what gets me by during times like these... remembering how lucky I am to be a fan of the San Antonio Spurs..

    1. Can't comprehend that we lost two straight must-win games at home
    2. Can't comprehend that we didn't punish the Suns' thin frontline
    3. Can't comprehend that we got outphysicalled by the Phoenix Suns
    3. Can't comprehend that Popovich couldn't figure out a way to cover the three-point line.
    4. Can't comprehend that Popovich couldn't figure out a way to slow down a simple pick and roll.
    5. Can't comprehend that we made the Suns look like the greatest team ever assembled.
    6. I blame Popovich, who has won four rings for one reason: Tim Duncan
    7. The Spurs are a better team with more talent than the Suns. That means that if Phoenix wins, maybe they do so 4-3 because they have home court. But not 4-0. The Suns swept us, and that's due to horrible coaching. No other way to slice it.
    7. Now I'm 1000% about pulling for the Lakers to lose. I live in LA, and cannot stand the thought of those s winning another le.
    8. I'd rather LeBron win it this year, because it will help squlech all the K. Bryant talk. Then again, anybody but the Lakers is fine with me.
    9. Tim Duncan has four rings, and he cannot get passed up by Bryant, who was a 2nd banana for three of those. If Shaquille gets his fith ring, I'm okay with that, because Shaquille was absolutely dominant in his prime.
    10. The French Open, the World Cup, and the NFL season cannot get here fast enough.
    11. I could've written five screenplays in the time I wasted this NBA season, so that's what I'll get back into the get over this disappointment.
    12. And I'll pray every single day that Popovich retires. I'm so sick and tired of his "I'm a genius" routine. He's the luckiest coach in the history of professional sports. Tim Duncan is the hero of San antonio, not freaking Gregg Popovich.

Actually, while watching game 2, I knew it was over.
This. After all that had happened this season I had pretty low expectations for the playoffs anyway. I knew that as long as the Spurs had a healthy Manu there was a slight chance of them making some noise, but I was prepared to smile at the good and just shrug my shoulders at the bad(except for the debacle that will henceforth be know as "Game 3 - The Dragic Affair").

Thank goodness the world cup is coming up. I hate when the Spur get knocked out. Nothing gives me comfort. But at least there is great conversation and tons of bs rumors to keep us busy all summer.

Been thinking of a team to root for in the playoffs. I love the Spurs but I love the NBA playoffs more.
I can actually root for this Suns team. I like Goran, Nash, and Stoudamiare. Nash really deserves a trophy, I hope he can break Bynums ankles like he was breaking Tim's and Blair's. Oh, and the Magic. They remind me of the Spurs, the version that was deadly from 3 and had a monster big man. Also, a 3pt shooting big who is 10x the players Bonner is. God I hope the Lakers/Celtics/Cavs don't win it all.

Turning my attention to the upcoming NBA Draft. Reading all the 2010 Mock drafts and pouring over the top 5 SFs.
    Link? That actually sounds interesting.

I was okay about the sweep last night but after listening to a few sports podcasts, I'm a tad depressed but I'll get over it by the end of the week.) life is too short to be sad and there's always next year........

I'm going to chill out.....wait for NFL to start (can't come soon enough) and maybe tune into the nba championship depending on the participants.....look forward to the NBA off season drama (where will all the free agents land, who will coach the clippers, can blake griffin get healthy, what will the spurs do to get better)

    1. I will start by scarfing posters who are stereotypical little es.

How many 'screenplays' did you write this season? (since you could have written 5 if you didn't watch basketball) Zero?

Honestly I wasn't depressed about last nights loss. I really didn't believe our frontline matched up well with the Lakers so even winning the series I felt would have been all for not. Part me was relieved that I wouldn't have to see Bonner guarding Gasol or George Hill guarding Bynum in the paint. I was depressed in '08 for a week because I felt that was the last chance for the spurs to repeat. In '09 I was pissed off for few a days because I really despise the mavs. This year its different I don't hate the suns its really hard to considering the spurs have beaten them too many times along with robbing Nash of his prime years that it makes it difficult to really hate on them. I don't even hate their fans considering they have suffered for so long that their gloating doesn't bother me I probably would be the same way if I was in their situation.

I have a simple phrase I apply to my life which is you can't lose all the time and this year that applied to the suns. As of right now I still watch the playoffs whats going on the east is very exciting the ECF will be great. I will also flip the channels back a forth to see if the Suns can beat the lakers if they are winning I'll watch but if they are losing I will probably watch a rerun of Seindfield.

me too. feeling very good about the 4 Championships. accepting the fact that every dog has his day and every champ eventually declines. whether its MJ or Shaq or Duncan or Hakeem. I would be very bummed if they'd never gotten one championship with Duncan. 4 is cake.
