And despite his height, Splitter has had 26 shots blocked in the ACB (another bizarro Euro-stat), or basically one per game.
Why is it a bizzaro stat?

He doesn't stick around much now; must be a busy time in north Arkansas.
The fishing is great this time of year.

Dunno. Some of the sites here now keep track of it for NBA games, althought it doesn't mean much without context. I'm guessing that one shot blocked/game for a starting big man isn't very far from average.

Splitter's not a noted shotblocker but I think it was referred to as a "bizarro stat" because of the inconsistency in which it's recorded -- much the same as the assist is usually deflated when compared to the NBA's method. You could get very easily hand out 8-10 assists over there and only get credited with 4-6.

I think he was basically saying Splitter blocks more shots than he's given credit for (but the guy's obviously wearing some Euro/Splitter-tinted glasses with his overstated, glowing rhetoric).

The stat we're talking about isn't "shots he blocked", but "shots of his that were blocked".

Reports suggest that Ettore Messina and Real Madrid are preparing to offer Splitter a contract in the range of 8 to 10 million euros.

Madrid is interested in Splitter but this numbers are an invention made by a fake Greek living in Mountain View. talkbasket.net has a part that is like Bleacher Report where everybody can write "articles". After Olymiacos will offer $60M to Kobe, this is fake Greek's new entry. An average player like Vaginis Spatula getting a that big offer should have raised a big red flag about the credibility of this report.
The sad thing is SA Express News-Rag is saying "recent reports indicate" Real Madrid will make this 8-10 million offer.

E-N yellow journalism plagiarizing speculation and passing it off as legit news is nothing new, more annoying is that this rumor will gain traction now with national media that SA's official news outlet is reporting it.

During yesterday broadcast of Celtics-Magic, Eduardo Agra, of ESPN Brasil, who was broadcasting the game, said he talked with Tiago's agent and he said they are already talking with the Spurs.

RC has been in pretty constant contact, as far as the rules allow. I wish it was July already.......

If the player that is assisted the ball dribbles before he scores,it doesn't count as an assist.

Could be "dribbles twice",but definately not like the NBA.

KBP trolling the MSM he's supposed to troll.

I've seen "news" on ESPN and YahooSports that were created out of nothing by KBP. He's masterful.

At 25 years of age, Splitter has been playing pro ball for 10 years and probably has a good bit of money in the bank now.

If he continues to hold off on the NBA beyond this year, he'll end up being another very old rookie if he ever comes over. Scola probably regrets not getting over to the NBA sooner, because he may only get one really good NBA contract now that he's 30 years old. Splitter may be able to get two decent contracts if he comes over now.

I hope the Spurs do just as RC has been indicating and get him over here now with most if not all of the Mid-Level. The Spurs FO has an opportunity to finally get a quality young big man that would likely go much higher in the draft if he was eligible this year (top 10?).

Why anybody thought that Splitter wants to end his current season , before he decides where to play next year.

Caja Laboral is still playing, so we should wait a little bit longer for his decision

He'd have to be nuts not to. Spain is next in line for economic devastation, and there's even a faint question about the Euro's survival.

Splitter latest rumor in some Europe websites is closer to signing with the NBA team San Antonio, but no definitive word has been confirmed yet

    uncertainties again.
For how long the front office can wait for him to come & fulfill his promise in the draft -that is he's willing to play in the NBA?
the NBA league should not allow players to apply in the draft IF after 2 yrs he CANNOT or opted not to play for the teams who drafted them.

the teams could have chosen other players, you know.

Yeah. The Draft declaration should be binding in some way or another (give or take a few years... sometimes stashing is works out well.)

Especially, considering... Basketball is growing across the world. I wouldn't be surprised if a European team offered LeBron 50 euros for one season. (It's a tough world when Russian Billionaires have to buy a hooker because they don't have face recognition... cough cough.)
