Eh, so USA won't win the Preparation Games Championship Trophy, big ing deal...
They're not gonna win a real trophy either. I'd be surprised if they even got out of the group stage.

I don't think the US is going to fair as bad as people here seem to think. They're not winning anything, but I don't think they'll do that bad.

No one thinks they're going to win the World Cup unless the know nothing about this sport. I'd say if the US doesn't make it out of group its likely a complete failure. If the win one game in the elimination stage then I'm satisfied.

USA haters are funny. Thats like hating on the ing OKC Thunder.

USA has to be the only underdog that is never treated like one.

Mexico had their A team with third string goalie against England. And Mexico had their bench against Netherlands, 9 different players from the team that played england.

Well, USA should be playing the real team today vs. Turkey. We'll see how they look.

Turkey could have easily scored 3 more goals. Spector needs to sit.

The defense was ing TERRIBLE and they were pretty bad in the game before too. There were a few individual plays but very little cohesion over all.

    Spector needs to sit.

Looks like the best back 4 is cherudolo, Onyewu, DeMerritt, Boca but that is a freaking slow back line. Unfortunately that's about the best they have to fit together.

Findley needs to be utilized in SA for his burners.

If Torres can play like that, I'd love to see him and Bradley Jr paired for the start of the match.

Overall, given the injuries and problems Algeria has, if the US can step up their consistency they can battle the Brits and slovs for the 2 spots. That would be a success, and once you're through just let it out and see if you can cause some damage.

Great win over a good Turkish team that is rebuilding but was very successful in 06 and 08.

Of course USA will not win it all, they wont have a chance. Of course USA has always sucked in football and had no chance ever to compete with the big boys and werent even seen as legitimate underdogs.

But now, this year, I think they can upset. I think they have the potential to surprise in this years world cup and come pretty far. I dont think they will win it all neither do I think they will have a chance to advance to the finals, but I do think they can go far and they can reach the quarterfinals.

In 2002 the upset was south korea, in 2006 it was australia, I think this time is USA. Of course korea and Australia had the best coach in the world who can make a crap team into a solid team, just by giving them motivation. USA do not have such a great coach, but still I think they will do good this time.

And funny is, they've just beat the team, Turkey, who has that best coach in the world, Hiddink who made Korea and Australia.

    ------------------------Hart

    ---G Johnson----Terry----Ferdinand---Cole

    -----------Lampard---Gerrard---Barry
    ------------------------Milner
    ------------------Rooney--Crouch

If Lampard s up anymore however he's off.

Who would attack on the wings with that line-up?

    I like:

    Hart

    Johnson Terry Ferdinand Cole

    A defensive Mid:Carrick?

    Phillips Lampard Gerrard Cole

    Rooney

This way you have Rooney playing as a lone striker (the position that best suits him, IMO), You have people on the wing (Lennon and Walcott aren't playing well right now) and Lampard and Gerrad can play more freely with a defensive midfielder guarding their backs, although I don't know who to put there, who IYO is the best defensive midfielder in England?

Carrick has been horrible lately, England's best defensive mid is probably Barry but it's doubtful if he will be fit. I don't like Walcott or SWP, they're both fast as but rarely do anything with the ball.
