The whole NBA forum is lame/unfunny ... so I don't think there is a clear cut winner.

The Koolaidman/Lakaluva/OGBobbyJohnson deal is up there on the list of the dumbest stuff on ST.

Tacker coming back on other user names and then not even changing up his MO is more so lame than just unfunny.

KillBill pretending to be Greek and then pretending everyone else is racist against Greeks is another unfunny shtick.

The Mavs crew following around the Mookie crew and trying to scoff them is unfunny and unoriginal.

Then of course, everyone who uses the word " " all the time because they are too ignorant/juvenile to come up with a proper insult is definitely unfunny.

Like I told a few other people recently, the NBA forum is just a cesspool ... It used to be a good mix of actually good basketball conversation, along with some scattered funny trolling.

Now, there's very little basketball talk, a bunch of lame/re-hash trolling, and a ton of people calling each other sexuals/pedophiles/losers. I'm not sure how anybody finds it entertaining.

At this point, there's probably two choices to fix it - 1) Close it down or 2) Ban 90% of you.

I do get annoyed with evey other poster being a weak troll, and some people being on here all day without bringing a single basketball take. Oh well... As much of a cesspool as it is, i'd rather hang out in here than hang out in the blow-fest going on in the Spurs forum.

What blow fest? Honestly, there is not a lot of homerism and plenty of people disagree w/ each other. Sure, during a long off season you deal w/ some mis-informed ideas, but from what I understand, ST is not even close to being as homer as other teams sites.

It's gotten better, but i feel like it's somewhat stale. I always find myself scrolling through entire threads until i see a worthwhile poster and then I'll check out his opinion. I actually like the Think Tank much better.

For the most part I've always enjoyed talking with fans of opposing teams...so the idea of the Nba forum just suits me better.

I disagree. I think the NBA forum is good mix of trolling and basketball discussion. The amount you allow people to get away with is what makes your forum unique and a desirable place to hang out.

It's true that trolling has taken precedent over basketball discussion, but the reason for that can traced back to when the Lakers became relevant again. The post-Gasol trade flood of Lakers trolls has in turn spawned a great deal of counter-trolling.

We can only take so much Lakers superiority chest-thumping and frontrunning before we make some trolls moves of our own. Now, this probably wouldn't have been the case if these Lakers homers actually contributed in a worthwhile way, but most of their content consists of Kobe nuthugging, insulting fans of teams with less les or no les at all, and trumpeting their greatness at every opportunity. In a perfect online world, we'd just ignore them and they'd eventually get bored and stop their shtick, but that's obviously not going to happen. Most people, besides Namlook, don't get on a forum to ignore. People want conflict and want to argue, which is 90% of what drives any message board.

So the only recourse we have is to try to annoy and troll them to an equal degree that they annoy and troll us.
