Oh I know, I mean the names they talk about for England its almost like they are an all star team.
They remind me of the Blazers of the late 90s early 2000s where they had a bunch of huge names but weren't a "team"

TBH, Bradley managed an excellent game. I don't like the fact that the US played for a tie the last 30 minutes, but otherwise he had an outstanding strategy. He managed to neutralize Rooney for a large portion of the game, as well as switching Dempsey and Donovan around to keep the fresher guy in the right place. This is a good showing that bodes well for the US going forward
to all the real soccer fans in here i have a question, do games really start with kids standing in fron of the players or is that only for the world cup
I wish we would attack more with Donovan, Dempsey, and Altidore
Also, the defensive lapses should lessen once Onyewu regains form. There were a lot of communication problems for the US on the back line in this game.
I'd also like to see Michael Bradley play a whole 90 minutes and not disappear after the first half like he did in this game. The US can't concede the midfield and expect to win games
(To be fair, Bradley was very good in the first half)

Given the fact that we were huge underdogs coming into this game, I'll take the 1-1 draw.
We got a goal we shouldn't have gotten, and didn't get one we should have gotten, so that part of it is a wash.
England had 3 times as many shots on goal, too. Howard is a ing STUD!!!

exactly. England hasn't won the world cup or Euro cup since 1966. Mucho pressure on those guys.....maybe they can't handle it cuz the country breathes on their every move
Agree with whoever said they played for the tie.
Im trying to relate it with hockey. It seemed they were content just to kick the ball out and back and just neutralize and kill time. I wish they would've been more agressive.
However again, Im not well versed on the game and not educated so can't speak too much out of turn.
USA needs to work on their passing. So many possessions were lost due to the inaccuracy of the passing. If the USA had crisper passing, it could be a different result.
I think the USA lucked out in this one. At times they looked like Greece with thier sloppy play.
I knew the brits were weak at keeper, and the near post is the only thing that kept him from being the ultimate goat on the play where Altidore abused the brit back line and put the guy on his hip. Really, aside from the first 5 minutes, they looked fairly evenly matched. Brits held the ball more but the surprising play of the back line and unsurprising brilliance of Howard kept them from getting really clean shots. I thought in the 2nd half the US had the best chances although brits had the most chances. Would have loved to see the US win, but good showing, especially by Cherundolo and Gooch and now it's time to do what the US usually doesn't: play up to expectations and defeat the weaker Slovenia and Algeria teams.
Reminds me of the US basketball team in the olympics.

I'm not a soccer fan. Never will be. So maybe it's my anti-soccer bias coming through, but I think any sporting event that is allowed to end in a tie is just fraudulent. The rules of the game are what they are, and I understand how the point system works, but it just boggles my mind seeing fans like the ones in Dempsey's Pub celebrating the tie vs England. 90 minutes of play, and no one won. Quit celebrating!!!
In the second round there's no tie.
As a side note, for someone new to soccer. That was AWESOME. The chants, the national pride, my god that was freaking amazing. For a game with very little scoring its amazing how glued to the TV with every move you can get! Heres to hoping that the mindset Less scoring = boring is going away.
Awesome game, can't wait for the next one! Whens the next American game?
