The ref is bad, he did the same thing Couibaly did and pulled a makeup call. Estrada was reckless all over the field and should have been sent off on the tackle from behind on a breaking Iniesta but the ref doesn't book him there then makes up the call with a slight accidental feet tangle call. I hate that, of you didn't book him when you should have don't invent something. That said, excellent goal by Villa and pretty goal by Iniesta to have us pretty at the half.

Chile is a bunch on goons, horrible late tackles, tackles from behind, going es high on ankles and such, I hope they don't make the knockouts after all that bull . They deserve 11 yellows and a red in 2+ games.

its all bravo's fault for going out to get that ball, no need for it, and once he was there he had to make sure it went out of bounds. till then the spanish had all the pressure and chile was finding space, after that all the pressure fell on chile and they lost control.

chile depends on the swiss' inability to score to advance. I still cant believe what a stupid mistake bravo made.

bielsa is a great coach, but he is too inflexible with his system. this is eerily similar to the 02 WC. instead of taking advantage of the other teams' desperation, his insistence on being the protagonist and playing full speed ends up leaving his team with no margin for error.

I have Spain as the champion in my pre-tournament picks but if they keep playing like they did during the group stage they won't go far, maybe qualifying first despite of this will give them the confidence for the latter stages, but they aren't looking good right now.
They've been sloppy and a have had defensive lapses and that's what could get them beat, although the same could be said for every contender. Even Brazil has looked beatable at times and made a few mistakes. It all depends on who brings the best play from here on out. I just wish Torres and Iniesta could get right, maybe Iniesta is starting to, looked a bit better to close the half and had excellent touch on the goal. If Villa can go off and keep scoring we have a legit chance.

No, that was a yellow card, which he got.

What was that Bielsa? Sanchez is the only Chilean player that can create an oportunity on his own.

Ref should finish the game right now, it's obvious that both teams are satisfied with the result.

No, that was a yellow card, which he got.
No, he got the yellow earlier for kicking Torres in the knee intentionally with a heel after the ball went out of bounds. Go back and look it up, he didn't get the yellow for the challenge on Iniesta like he should have.

That was Ponce not Estrada, Estrada got the yellow for the challenge on Iniesta.

I have a feeling Brazil is going to decimate this Chile, good thing is then they'll probably face Holland.

    Brazil-Chile? Hmmmm....
Chile is way too unexperienced and careless on the back, Brazil will feast on the counterattack, which is what they do now.
