After all that momentum and the US comes out with one of the most mistake riddled, poorly played halves I've seen. Everything from getting the ball stripped on possession at midfield to Howard letting a slow paced bad shot beat him near post to horrible passing and runs. I don't understand how you can make so many errors and let Ghana, one of the worst offensive striking teams in the world and possibly worst in this tournament get a cheap goal like that. This team seems to thrive on 2nd half ball, but it's playing with fire.
Horrible decision to put Clark in after not playing at all during the tourney. Bradley choked as a coach on that one. I still think the US comes back and ties it then wins in extra time. Ghana is playing harder now but they still lack any offensive striking quality whatsoever.

The problem with the US strategy and level of talent is that their best tactic is too defend well and capitalize on their chances. They've only done that in the second half against Slovenia. They are not a team that is going to dominate possession but they are a team that plays with heart. Like Sense said, the US underestimated Ghana a bit because they haven't seen this kind of speed in the cup so far. The US will get chances......Donovan/Donovan/Altidore has to show up and they have to play with heart
cheering for the US is the hardest thing I've ever done, it's like they don't know what they're doing out on the pitch, it's so frustrating
While I might agree that they haven't shown quality striking over the course of the tournament.... in this game they've had some pretty good shots, but Howard has been saving them.
Prince's shot wasn't bad striking, he put it where it needed to be... Slow or not it was at the right spot.
And what about that free kick?
They're getting more and more confident with their speed.... they might not need quality striking to win this game.
good analysis. add to that that us was very lucky this tournament, so the high expectations come after quite fortunate play.

it looked like he was about to cry at halftime. He's 3000x better than Marcelo Balboa though. That's the one thing I will give ESPN props for.....better commentators and analysts for the world cup
