Great another guy to stand around the 3 point line and do little else.
Yeah, lord knows we couldn't use a guy like that in our Phoenix series this year.

Actually, he can stand behind the 3-point line and hit shots. RJ couldn't. By the end of the season, he didn't even stand behind the line, which ruined the spacing even more.

Did you watch the playoffs? The Spurs didn't have ANY reliable options on the perimeter to make teams pay when they closed in on penetrators. With Duncan, Parker, Ginobili and Hill the Spurs have enough guys to create on offense. Now they need players to hit the open shots...and Korver fits that bill.

Again though, he's going to end up making more money that the Spurs can offer...if they're intent on fixing their other need (frontcourt athleticism/length) by using most, if not all the MLE on Splitter.

Don't see how Utah will let go of one of the best shooters in the NBA that just happens to be an Ashton Kutcher lookalike...he should be a huge fan favorite in Utah right?

His shooting would be nice to have (assuming it carries over!) although I expect him to play even worse defense than RJ and be nearly worthless if he's not getting open looks. The shooting touch would be nice though.

He's definitely a fan favorite. However, they got Gordon Hayward to replace him. If they were both on the team at the same time, things could get ugly....

I just figured you were speaking to the inevitable cataclysmic event that would take place should they occupy the same space on the same team (see: Bonner-Scalabrine).

Would this mean that the negotiations with Splitter might not be going well? I'm just wondering if spurs have the money to sign him if they give Splitter a contract. Hope its just means it's a trade possibility.

this is good news. he's much needed here. i'll take him over Little Richard any day.
Not a surprising stance coming from you, but the only thing this dude can do better than RJ is shoot a higher 3pt% and win an Ashton Kutcher look-a-like contest.

The Spurs need defense and 3pt shooting. Korver provides no defense and excellent 3pt shooting. Jefferson provides no defense and no 3pt shooting.

Obviously Korver is more difficult to acquire, which factors in, but player for player I'd rather have Korver for this team.

and he'd lose the Kutcher-contest to Splitter.

But RJ can win the Jason Taylor contest.

Actually Korver isn't horrible on D, he's no Bruce Bowen, but he's decent.

    Thank Jerry Sloan for that.

Do not agree. RJ is a better defender than Korver by a mile and has the potential to be better next season. Korver has 0 potential to be a good defender. Ever.

That's very mature. You have lost any shred of credibility, if you had any to begin with.

And you can just type out pussy, you won't get in trouble.

look anything anti-Jefferson you're against. people could want Bosh in here and you'd discount it because Jefferson plays SF and Bosh does not.

you're ability to analyze talent/chemistry is terrible. Jefferson does not fit here and Korver is the MUCH better option. he gives us what this team needs a 3 pt threat.

    Jefferson gives us nothing, zero.

In the last 3 years in Utah, in a span of 27 playoff games Korver's averaged 39% from 3 and 88% from the line in about 22 minutes a game.

That's pretty much perfect for the Spurs. Because of his shooting he's a legit option in crunch-time for 3s unlike RJ, which would ease the pressure to play a Bonner, and is even useful as a designated FT shooter in the playoffs, though his regular seasons are up and down and the Spurs FT-Curse could nullify that. And he's not the most athletic guy anyway so his age won't affect his play too much.

But he's still fairly unrealistic as an option without the MLE, and without Splitter for the MLE it's all moot anyway.
