And now the alleged interest of the Spurs in Shaq is put into perspective.
Wow, unreal to get Splitter for $10 million. I figured this was going to be a 3 year, $19 million MLE deal.
get jefferson back for cheap and raja bell and maybe another foward like matt barnes and this team could be built to beat the lakers defintley 2nd in the west now
It'll be funny if the Spurs still ended up signing him.
Yes, get Jefferson back now. Then bolster the 2 and 3 depth with the remainder of the MLE and the LLE.
spurs would not be againt violating the nba rules and pulling a boozer in take les now and with bird rights we will promise more in a max contract
maybe splitter thought 3yr/10 mil euros..lol
Don't know how I didn't see this thread right off the bat.
Oh, and ...![]()
I would try Josh Howard. In the likely case it didn't work, I would then go after Rasual Butler.
You think the Spurs would carry Duncan/Dice/Splitter/Blair/Bonner/Shaq?
what do u think of josh howard for rest of mle and barnes for lle in case RJ gets a contract somewhere else
Howard, Bell and Butler, in that order.
I don't see Bell coming here but I'd prefer Howard anyway. And maybe the rest of the MLE for one year and the chance to stick it to Cuban would be worth it to him. I don't see many better offers than what the Spurs could give him for a year -- he could get more guaranteed but not at his true market value -- and he'd be free to get paid after he proves healthy for a year and has his game back.
Butler I like as a Spurs fit, Bell's almost perfect as a Spurs fit, but give me Howard if you have the choice.
Holy .
Well, I was affraid about lose Splitter in some brazilian NT in some compe ions. However, after these news, I dont think the management will have guts to ask him something more. Lol
No question you get Howard if you can if he is remotely healthy.
Now I really hope Bonner signs for less than previously reported.
Duncan at less than $19 million, McDyess at less than $5 million, Splitter at ~$3 million, and Blair at less than $1 million = great bargain front line.
Well, it looks like RJ will re-sing with Spurs tomorrow.
Now, if Spurs can get both Howard and Barnes, I hope they decide to sign both and let RJ go instead of re-signing RJ to a big contract.
what if the Spurs got one of Barnes/TMAC/Howard for the rest of the MLE and either James Jones or Butler for the LLE
has this been confirmed?
holy , btw.![]()
At this point, however well you can stock the team for the next two seasons, you do it.
I'm not sure if this was by design or not, but a 3yr/$10 mil contract lines up exactly with rookie scale for the #4 pick in this year's draft. Just an observation........
It still wouldn't make much of a difference though, 12.5m to 10m dollars. So like a million a year. Sounds like he was serious about making his money in Europe then coming over here to compete...![]()
if we get a chance to sign howard and barnes and also resign jefferson....it would be awesome.....howard can give us time at SG spot and barnes can play PF in pop's small ball lineup
