It is too late to be writing about stuff that happened in 2004, 2006, and 2007 now that it is popular to hate LeBron. Have the guts to write it at that time.
It was touched on, but never really delved into

    http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/pos...-with-team-usa

It could be that sources are now willing to talk about it and that's where alot of the more detailed information is coming from, but you make a valid point.

We getting 17, Cobb, you can book it. The exodus of big men from the West gave us a lock to the finals. Boston looks prime again to meet us there to give us an opportunity to narrow that gap.
Of course we are Luva. You should know me by now... I never waiver. For years we got to watch east coast teams get home court simply because they played in the weaker conference. Now the Lakers will have an easier path through the west, be rested (let's not forget that Pau and Kobe are resting this summer for the first time since joining forces), and the East teams will have to battle for the right to lose to us.

And as I have said all along, our 4-peat (the first since the 60's Celts) will take us to 18-17 in our favor and the galaxy will be alligned planets and all for our 2012 demise!

It's all part if the master plan!

Yeah, great story. On the one hand, it is true that Kareem/Magic/Worthy era Lakers were like an All-Star team. It will be interesting to see how the Heat do.

A gutsy, well-written article by Wojo.

No other writer is offering up the detailed skinny, on the free agency events, like this guy.

It's funny how this superstar triumverate has already earmarked themselves for about 3-5 les. Somebody should tell them that you don't win les in the summer or on paper.

It was already clear before that James was a delusional, self-aggrandizing, egomanic, who lived in his own world and was oblivious to the world outside of his "yes-men". This article simply confirms it. Another home run.

    +1

I never saw Woj write anything like this until this free agency period. Maybe Lebron told him to off when he asked for an interview.

I'm older than James by 10 months, and I can tell you that the person I am today and the person I was in 2004 is practically unrecognizable. I was 20 and cared about nothing but basketball. I was still in High School and I indulged in things just to try them on because I thought they were cool. I had no idea what made me happy.

Back to James, the moral of that story is that the fears were unfounded. They sent the message, he straightened up.

Does anyone remember who was on the Lakers bench when Magic started at Center because of Kareem's injury in the 1980 NBA Finals? Paul Westhead, Pat Riley was an assistant. Magic Johnson led the revolt to get Westhead fired and Pat Riley hired. He's hardly the first superstar to have a problem with a winning coach. He wanted accountability for the 2009 loss in the Conference Finals. What is wrong with that?

The Pistons fired Rick Carlisle after he led them to their most successful season in 12 years. They fired Larry Brown after he led them to back-to-back NBA Finals appearances and won an NBA Championship. Mike Brown would just be the latest name added to the list.

If you look at the offense in year one of Brown and last year, it became almost exclusively Lebron. James says he wants to be a passer. Maybe that was the source of his discontent.

The first few Wojo bashes of LeBron were classic. Now he's just coming across as butthurt. If LeBron had decided to give his "decision" to Yahoo instead of ESPN, I doubt we'd have all these Wojo articles trying to ruin LeBron.

Idk why he's acting like it was some travesty of Lebron to leave Mike Brown up 's creek without a paddle. That potato head looking got couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag.

Hard to take Woj seriously considering that he is huge Kobe nut rider and he's a dedicated Lebron hater. I will say this which is obvious that Lebron's inner circle will eventually bring him down if he doesn't develop the guts to cut them off. They all come across to me as a bunch of chumps that are freeloaders especially that loser Maverick Carter. Maverick Carter's keys success "My best friend is filthy rich so I will suck his and get some of that cash."
