    Traitor!

Imagine if he was missing the World Cup. No surprise, no one takes FIBA as seriously as FIFA. Mostly because of the stupid olympics. I would rather have the World Championships as the main tournament instead of the Olympics.

Not at all. He's getting old and the summer is the perfect time to rest. When he was younger, he gave all the committement to his national team. It's not the time anymore. His goal, from now to the end of his career, should be trying to win a Championship with Dallas. Unlikely, I know...

2011 is the EC as qualifier for the Olympics, that means if he dont take this year off he would play 3 straight offseaons with germany and that in his age.

Im pretty sure its a compromise for everyone to stay out this year too and to play 2011 and 2012 (and then ending his national career).

without him, however, they're going to do something different this time IMO. Dirk has been a cancer not only on Mavs but on national squad. I think the Mavs would have already won a series of championships had they sold Dirk for a couple dip s who didn't poison the team's chemistry.

we'll see. It's just every time we see their national squad, they always end up at the bottom of the food chain. Only so much the Diggler can do.

2011 and 12 could be a nice squad to do some potentoial damage:

    Hamann
    Greene
    E. Harris
    Dirk
    Kaman/Pleiss

Even A. Randolph could play for Germany
